The closest real head shop has only one type of vaporizer in stock, they said by phone that it's a "fishbowl" type, and it's $45.

I'm a relatively light toker... will that work for me? Is there any reason to avoid it? I've not even seen one... but I really want to start cutting my exposure to possible carcinogens, so...

If it's worth it, I'd like to start driving before traffic gets too bad, so if anyone has any quick opinions I'd sure value them.

I have no experience with it, but I have heard good things about Da Buddha vaporizer as an affordable option for ~$180. It might be worth checking out.

i've got a volcano and every time I use it i think to myself, "worth every fuckin' penny." i actually don't even use it as often as i should because i get too high from it sometimes. I mean, I got shit to do throughout the day! that's a good problem to have...

check ebay for used ones - you can save some money that way.

If by fishbowl you mean a manual one, then no. My friend has one and it gets really hot, and you can always taste the butane in the lighter. Its better just using as a bowl

I recently constructed my own vaporizer using a borosilicate glass beaker, and an empty glass drinking bottle. Very easy to construct and cheap -a beaker only costs liek $3.
If you want I can draw you a diagram.

I have a fishbowl vap and its fine. Its basically a plastic bong body with a heating element housed inside and a bowl on top. the "fishbowl" is the glass bowl-like thing that goes over the bowl to contain vapors until you hit it. The downside: it has no temp control. The upside: everything tastes like honey oil through these and they're inexpensive. If you've never used a vap before, you probably shouldn't settle for one.

This is an ancient thread, but since I started it, I figured I should follow up.

Ultimately I purchased a Fuji for use with company, I guess I've had that more than a year.

Recently I bought a Magic Flight Launch Box, and find it to be a very quality product.
