Drugs *can* definately be a learning experience. Just like you can go through any life experience like a zombie or with conscious awareness.

Drugs radically kick you into another state of mind. That forces (critical thinkers) to ponder about this new perspective, and how that new perspective relates to the old. It helps to broaden our sense of self, while also gaining better understanding of the self.

Not necessary. But can definately be a big help.

I would guess drugs are the perfect intermediary between the unenlightened marching morons who are half sleep in their waking state, and the fully enlightened who pay the penalty for enlightenment through full blown psychoses

i guess it's not dependent on a drug-induced state of mind, more about people learning to believe without the societies of the world impacting on leading them to believe that they should go on without learning how to think(learning to think on their own), a bit less drastic concern with everyday life, and learning to realise what they do and why they do it, and to expand on that. there is a common denominator that bridges the gap between madness and genius, and genius is creativity. why do they call geniuses mad? forgive me this was a lame half assed post, too bad:D

This documentary is more enlightening on the subject than any amount of tripping could possibly give.
In fact, this documentary could do more to fuck up your cozy idea's of how things are run than any acid trip could.
Scarier than any cartoon show I'll tell ya that kids!
    Please watch, very important shit...http://www.moviesfoundonline.com/manufacturing_consent.php

  7. Mind control is such a subtle thing, mostly dealing with fear, I would imagine. It wouldn't take much -- just like a grumbling sound maybe in the background of a TV program.

That said, it seems like fear just predominates the planet. Perhaps... There's really no need to control everybody when everybody's already afraid?

Fear makes people easy to control.

Spend enough time pondering these things and eventually the painful truth makes itself clear....Spend too much time pondering these things and eventually the painful truth becomes elusive and leads you to madness.

That's actually a very discerning summation of what they call the 'truth movement.'

There's a fine line between genius and madness.

haha man this is sort of what i meant with my thread skizm, about television that you posted on. i think media is definitely a huge source of a sort of mind control, not in the sort of paranoid "it's beaming signals into my head" but i do think that overexposure to media starting at an early age shapes your world view to something very predictable... it's amazing what kind of research goes into what is put on TV and how to successfully convey their message in a given amount of time.

another interesting thing about sex... my dad worked for a long time with people in mental hospitals and he noticed (obviously it's been noted other places as well, it's not his theory or anything) that delusions have a tendency to center around god and sex. just a random aside, not that it means anything really but i saw the post about "stop wanting money sex and tv" and wanted to mention this.

You hit the nail on the head honestly, plain and simple.

I mean, there's a lot we don't know and that's where people wander off into madness. But if you just stick to the key notes, and don't fill in the blank..

I never really watched TV too much, I spent my teens in the internet. But if you sit down for 10 hours and watch any given channel... You'll probably be craving some KFC, or won't get some odd commercial out of your head. But that's just what you consciously realize, those pigs figured out ways to tap our unconscious minds and do just the same.

I couldn't imagine being solely informed by the television.

Shame we focus our resources on trying to control other people's brains rather than our own :(
