I hear that... very frustrating... welcome to the wonderful world of outsourcing... magically transforming Customer Service to Customer Disservice. Businesses have a way of treating their customers like cheap dates. It's funny how it's always someone who speaks fluent English who signs you up for the service but need tech support and you get a service tech who speaks in aborigine pops and clicks to guide you through the self destruct process. Fun

I might suggest running a memory hog app that is not internet related- like photoshop if you have it- see how it performs to determine the likelihood that it's your modem and not your computer.

    Does google earth require internet?

Don't know what all is on your computer... if I had those powers I'd have long ago abused them and either be dead, obscenely rich, or in prison.

I think it does, but with my brower, gigantic music folder and windows media player open too google earth works pretty decently from what'd I expect from my computer

Well if I were in your shoes I'd google the issues and look for discussion forums for fresh thinking from people more knowledgeable than myself. I'm as qualified to render tech support as I am to guide a blind man through brain surgery.

Good luck and hope you don't have to resort to using a hammer! lol

oh.. i dont know what the deal is with your computer Syd.. but on my older comp.. which had only like 128 or 256 cannot remember.. i ran TinyXP... its a stripped down version of XP that gets rid of all the bloat and loads only the essentials.. saving a lot of ram.. i also currently run it.. it rarely.. and i mean rarely crash
