    The brightly colored scarf
    Of pink blue and yellow
Worn so sweetly around her neck

Wrinkled from age and stronger by wisdom
What came from the colors of pink blue and yellow

Band –aids, lollipops, hugs and kisses
Bedtime stories of dragons and lizards
Silly songs and prayers on the pillow
All in the colors of pink blue and yellow

Washed over and over again and again
By journeys of life gone by
    The brightly colored scarf
    That sings no more
Lies quietly, peacefully, in my drawer

Good job of personifying the scarf, something everyone has or has had. Maybe personifying isn't the right word, I'm new to this poetry thing. But you know what I mean. You imbued new meaning to a common, every day object.
