I'm currently reading this awesome book: Eunuchs for the Kingdom of Heaven: Women, Sexuality, and the Catholic Church by Uta Ranke-Heinemann. It basically details the history of the Catholic church's biased and prejudical treatment of women throughout history, from menstrual blood to contraception in the middle ages to Pop John Paul II. It's slow moving but way worth the read for anyone who's interested in this kind of history. Just felt the need to share!
Thanks for the info. One of my biggest critcisms of religion is how it's so misogynystic. I think I'll pick up this book.
Sounds interesting, though I can't really get into anything that involves religion at all. The whole subject just makes me go, "Meh".
