Their story kind of didn't make any sense.
I mean seriously, how fast could that thing have been?
They could have just ran away if they were so afraid.
I'm thinking they found it minding it's own business, decided to kill it for lolz, poked it with a stick for awhile while they discussed how it could potentially look like an alien, then invented the story we just read and went back to their homes to tell it.
