What is your philosophy on reality?

Each person has a base reality. This is just their subjective "pure" perception. In this state, neither thoughts of the past nor future are clouding judgment or perception.
Base reality is simple. Things exist and if you want to change things as they are, you must use your only power in this universe - ACTION!!! In this state of mind, once things are reduced to action, life is simple.
But the ego wants to "codify" this state of consciousness into words, maxims, strategies. ETC that eventually seem contradictory in egoic state of consciousness.
The irony is that the TRUTH is, by definition, absence of these words, maxims, concepts ETC.

Absent of ego, I believe all people experience more or less the same TRUTH and can relate it to each other...I believe this absence of egoic interference is referred to as different things by many different people and religions.

The ego always has to be tricked out of existence...Fight the ego on its own terms, and you have alerady lost.

The ego's greatest tool is your own identification with your ego - see how contradictory it sounds? That's because you have muddled your perceptions with your ego's perceptions of yourself...You can't distinguish between you and your ego.

your ego is an evolved defense mechanism to "protect" and shield, with different effects in different people. the ego might make someone depressed, or it might make them power hungry. It depends on the spiritual deficiencies and how they combined together to form the specific "ego defense mechanism".

Now, here is where it gets crazy...

How we think of ourselves as different, is just how our ego defense mechanism has developed itself throughout our life experience...But, this mechanism has always existed outside of your own conscious control! And, actually, it is basically the same process working in all of us!! It is a life force which operates physically through our bodies, with its own genetic goals of replication. There are variations in all of our DNA, but it is a completely random process and more or less the same. the DNA is our soul.

So who are you?

Well, you started as your DNA.

you identify with your ego, most likely, which is a combination of your DNA's specific "egoic defense mechanisms" combined with your life experience.

I don't know.

I used to lean toward "experience", but experience doesn't actually exist. what is experience but sounds (physical vibrations) colors (frequencies of light waves) sensations and tastes (imaginary constructs of the mind, therefore entirely subjective)?

 

STUFF exists, and we are just STUFF that has arranged itself in a way that it can perceive itself.

Once you realize that life is just stuff...No different than non-life, really. Just non-life that, for some reason, feels compelled to self-replicate.

And we are this stuff...where did consciousness come from?

That is the biggest mind fuck of all.

If stuff didn't wnt to understnad itself, consciousness would never exist...

And without consciousness, nothing could be said to exist...what would be experiencing it?

it has a base line like a tree trunk, then come the branches were our concepts split off, then onto the leaves witch are our own indervidual thoughts and experances so to say in short and terms of understanding

 

Ego is just a word to explain unwholesome human behaviour and has no scientific credibility. It's taken from eastern translation and adopted by Freud. Later taken up by new age gurus etc to elevate themselves. The trap with the word ego is to start thinking it is a thing sort of like an entity that has to be vanquished. To side step ideas about ego, focus on yourself; who are you, what are you doing? Forget about ego.

yeah the use of "ego" is pretty inconsistent and leads to many misunderstandings. certainly it is not something you every lose in this life, except under certain rare or engineered conditions.

It is because it is. It is a large spiraling fractal. Everything is fractal. Consciousness is a constant, until it enters a vessel which takes up space, so it is able to travel on the motion of the fractal we call time, or moments. When it is not in a vessel, it does not transcend time or space, its more like the sun, and its little drops of light is what inspires these physical objects to gain animation and spiral through time and space. Like mushrooms.

 

Reality is right here, right now. Reality is not intention for past or future, though probably the single largest cause of hurt on this planet is the human desire to live in something beyond this moment. Otherwise I couldn't really tell you other than to quote Einstein and say it's a fairly persistent illusion
