My experience with converting people is that when it comes to reality, they will hear nothing of it. This is usually because they have an emotional blockage that acts as a physical wall between my belief system and theirs.

I realized that it has taken alot out of me to try and change even the people who are closest to me. My girlfriend is the only one level headed enough to invade her own mental privacy and face up to the reality.

Sadly, when there is little one can do, happily one does not try and focus their attention on what they have A LOT of power to change(my diet and focus).

What are you experiences with family and vegetarianism? How do they relate to your choices behind changing your practices?

For me I changed out of health primarily, plus it would suck to be a cow or chicken and live like that, so whatever. This shapes my experience in that I take a health approach to the situation and even though I make it selfish in nature, people still will not hear the reality...Oblivious I found them and oblivious I will leave them from the looks of it.
