Everytime i take oxy and smoke a cigarette i find it makes me rush so hard sometimes i wont even feel very much until after i have a cigi & the rush can get so hard i start to get dizzy and almost fall over. My question is would this be caused by a cigarette being a mild (at best) MAOI or is something else causing this? Has anybody else found the same thing?
whenever im on opiates i feel the need to chain smoke. i think its the nicotine rush or something but im not really sure
I'm the same way and everyone I know who's into opiates is too. I was trying to find info on it but coudln't. A long time ago, I thought I read something about nicotine enhancing the metabolism of opiates or something along those lines. I know that both opiates and nicotine trigger the release of dopamine and have that synergistic effect together. But, I think there's something more to it than just that.
i have no idea about the chemistry and all that, but i do find that on a ton of drugs (alcohol, speed, opiates, mdma) i LOVE cigarettes and usually end up chain smoking. i think this might have to do with your pleasure receptors/reward centers already being activated by a drug, and maybe the cigarette just adds on to that. dunno for sure though, good question... cigarettes and drugs mix very very well.
yeah i dont smoke normally (apart from weed and cigars) but on certain drugs at certain times i will fiend cigarettes. and i always take em when theyre offered to me. lol
I have to agree with pretty much everyone else on this, I love to smoke when I get high, and i smoke a lot more to. It just feels so right! lol
sometimes oxy and cigarettes r a bad combo especially when i'm really fucked up cuz then all I do is burn things

I think it is becuz nicotine is a stimulant and opiates are a depressant. So when your "depressed" from the opiates and then go and smoke a cig, you get a rush of "stimulation" from the nicotine. But for some reason whenever i slam dilaudid then i smoke a cig, i just start to nod out and burn myself lol.
Someone was telling me if you stop using opiates also stop smoking because the nicotine binds with similar receptors in your brain as opiates.
haha yeah the first time i smoked opium ( more likely it was black tar heroin but labelled as opium/smelled flowery) i burned my hand with a cigarette. i felt so ridiculously typical.
Heh. I can't count how many shirts I have burned, either.... Actually, about two years ago my g/f at the time would get 80's and fent patches from her grandma for free. So one night, I put two patches on and start sniffing the oxy... I wake up a few days later, see a burn hole in my shirt. I was pissed, it was my new shirt... So, I pick another shirt only to find a hole in it! I went through 5 shirts, burned holes in all of them. A 3rd party told me I kept dropping my cigarette and burning my shirt. At that point I would waste an hour putting on another shirt only to burn it 5 minutes later. Lols, good times.

My buddy always fades out while he's high. I have a few times but not as much as him, it's like everytime he does em I know I'm gonna have to sit there goin hey man your gonna burn yourself. His whole closet is filled with shirts,pants,shorts with burnholes. One time I woke him from a fade 5 times during one smoke finally said screw it and the next day he had a huge ass blister on his finger b/c he let the cig. burn out on his skin.
