Hello brothers. I'm new at this forums and beggining to explore Rastafarism. People usually call me "Rasta" maybe because of my laid back vision of life. And I know many people relate Rasta with hippie, so thats another reason they call me like that. But I know Im not really a Rasta. So I want to learn the true Rastafarism, beliefs, way of life. I know that having dreads, smoking cannabis and listening reggae doesn't makes you a Rasta, it's mostly the stereotype Babylon wants us to know. I know that I am deeply swallowed by Babylon and I live with it and in it everyday. But in the bottom I know I want to escape from Babylon. How do I do that? How do I become a TRUE rasta? Thank you! "And I don't want to be Babylon's mimicry of what I'm not"
Rasta is far more than just being laid back. It is a major religion/way of life. You should do more research before you decide you want to be a Rastafarian. It's not a fashion accessory that you can just "take up" one day
