my thoughts are: "if pete wentz did it on stage, everyone will copy him" regardless of whether its actually dead. hell, it's all retarded anyway. fall out boy doesn't seem that popular anymore.
Pronouncing something dead for whatever reason (probably because they had enough of it?) is always a pointless thing to do. Trends and styles are rarely massively followed/abandoned because one person, famous or not, tells people to do so.
