never done it before

ive done shrooms before, and when i did that luckily i didnt have to worry about interacting with anyone who shouldnt have known i was tripping. there was no way i'd be able to control myself to talk to someone for any reason. is acid similar? like would i have a hard time composing myself for whatever reason? like say my roommate or my mom called or something? or someone of authority tried to talk to me? (i'm at Temple University, theres cops EVERYWHERE)

also, im trying to get my friend to join me, but hes not sure he wants to do acid (we tripped shrooms together and it was a blast)... would it be a bad idea to trip alone? part of the reason i loved shrooms so much was cause he was there and i experienced the whole thing with him, but would it be just as good by myself? or can you guys think of a way i could convince my friend to do acid? i told him its cheaper/easier to get/not dangerous but i think hes just convinced that it makes holes in your brain... is that at all true?

 

do some research. if acid or ecstasy really put 'holes' in your brain, why would people still do it??

If you can handle shrooms, chances are you'll be able to handle acid. I would say don't be a wimp on your first try either, do at least 2 hits! Above all, have a lot of fun!

 

i wasnt totally able to handle myself on shrooms... i only took a 16th too... i mean, i could walk fine but i didnt even attempt to talk to anyone that didnt know i was tripping. my friend who is getting me the acid said i only need one hit, so how much of a difference would there be between 1 hit of good acid (its $10/hit) and 1/16th of good shrooms?

 

i dont know how people can get high off 1/16th of shrooms

 

on your first acid trip, it will be difficult to compose yourself. you probably will sound funny if you talk to your mom on the phone. cops will probably make you paranoid and anxious.
it probably won't be as fun tripping alone as tripping with a friend. maybe your friend could take shrooms and you could take acid?

1/16th of shrooms would be roughly similar in intensity to a hit (or two) of acid. though it's very hard to tell b/c both differ in potency, and are different drugs after all, so it's hard to compare in the first place.

i would vote for taking two (ask if you can buy 2 for $15)
it wouldn't be the difference btwn a good or bad trip i don't think. like if you'd enjoy one, you'd probably just enjoy two a lot more

 

when i do acid or mushrooms i'm fine with composing myself, it's all in your head...

i don't think one can really compose oneself - on the 1st acid trip. maybe a seasoned tripper can, but it's best not to have to.

ok, so i have another question... my friend (he's gonna take it with me now) wants to take it in this park, the same place we tripped shrooms. i really like that park, but 1. if it started raining or something we wouldnt have anywhere to go and 2. it will be cold out, he said we could just bring blankets but idk if i want to stay in a park for that long...

the next best place would be my dorm room, cause my roommate wont be here for the weekend, and we could just chill in here without worrying about anything. plus we'd have access to movies/video games (might be fun?). also i guess we could leave if we really wanted to, but going back inside might be a little difficult, cause you have to sign in, and it might be hard to compose ourselves in front of security people while trying to sign ourselves into the building or whatever.

anyway what place do you think would be better? the park is more convenient for my friend, cause he can just get a ride there and i'd have to take the train, but my dorm seems like it would be more fun/safer, but its more of an inconvenience for my friend since he'd probably stay the night/have to convince his mom to let him do that.

 

Both your options for settings are not great. If you absolutely must take it in one of these two, either do it outdoors and check the weather to be sure you won't be drenched, and dress appropriately, or don't do a lot (1 hit max?) and stay inside. Being stuck inside on acid blows. I really doubt you'll be interested in video games btw

 

hmmm... ok. in that case i think we'll try the park then. hopefully the weather wont be too terrible... you said both those places were bad... what would you suggest? we dont have to do it in either of those places, i was just thinking my dorm cause it'll be empty, and my friend wants to go back to that park just cause we tripped shrooms there.

 

If it's your first time doing acid then the #1 most important thing regarding setting is
do it somewhere you both feel comfortable and secure. Also where you won't have to deal with anyone else for ar least the first 5-6 hours. If you do that then 90% of the shit that can turn it into a bad time will have been eliminated.
Do some research from other sources than just here. Read some of the work done by some of the pioneer researchers, Osmond, Metzner, other names escape at this time, but you get the idea I hope.
When you are more experienced and comfortable internaly with psychedelics, then I would say try it in more social situations.
First time, comfortable and secure setting are the primary concerns IMHO, as well as most of the experts in the field.

ive tripped a few times at temple and can walk around and such and have no problems with cops or anything(dont talk to the homeless people at temple though cause they'll mess with oyu if they know youre tripping). center city just looks awesome though with all the lights and shit and definitely hang out at rittenhouse...i did that the first time i tripped and played frisbee with all the hippies in the park for liek 4 hours until we hit a homeless man with the frisbee and that turned into a homeless man fight and we just got our shit and got out of there haha
