Im a fan of the Akai MPC, and now I found a really affordable alternative, 169.00 for an MPD-24 I was looking at reviews and they said the pads arent of very good quality, thats something I think I can live with for the price, and not enough functions, but I saw on Youtube people recreating Dilla beats with it and shit, so Im interested, and i think next month im going to buy it.

Any of you ever mess around with one, or have any opinions VS the 32.

    Thanks Later

i bought the mpd 24 because i do not have a lot of money to throw around for these types of things.

i love it. the fact that you can link it up to pretty much any VST plugin allows for infinite creative possibilities.

as far as the quality of the pads...i have never touched another midi controller or drum machine so i have nothing to compare it to.

the pads feel fine and i have had no problems with it.

the knobs are probably what i use the most. i use FL Studio 8 and this allows me to link up any parameter to any knob. i often have multiple knobs linked up to multiple FX and i twist them all to see what kinds of crazy sounds i can create. FL Studio allows me to record this midi automation to my tracks. later i can cut it up and just use what sounded cool.

    hope that helps

as long as you have a DAW the mpd is the way to go.
