salvia plant

    so today i was outside my house and apparently someone planted salvia from the people thjat used to live here... it was purple with the leaves at the bottom and it had a thing sayin salvia on it stickin out... like the things u see in gardens to label the plants... i was wondering if this would do anything for me if i dried the leaves or something..

    I'm betting that it's not a salvia divinorum plant.
    Salvia is the name for a family of plants, not only the psychoactive plant is called salvia.

    I believe I read that one main difference between salvia divinorum and other kinds of salvia is that the divinorum plant has a sqaure, hollow stem.
    But don't take my word for it :)

    there is a salvia with purple flowers. they sell the seeds for it in wal-mart.

    and then there is salvia divinorum which is totally different. square stem. no seeds really, only propogated now by cuttings.

    Salvia is of the Sage genus.
