they look like they are cold.. did you water to much? Just transplant? is there a low pressure system in your area? This can effect plants inside too..
let soil dry out if its wet..

It's pretty warm in there. Small closet space, bright lights, and I didnt water them (long story, but there was a tub of water in the closet last night, removed it when I saw my plants. Possibly too much water in the air?) No transplant, although I'm thinking the time is drawing nearer for that. I slept with my windows open last night, might have gotten cold in there.

I felt the soil and it was bone dry, so I added just a little bit of water. I'm going to get my hands on a camera and get real pictures on my plats.

I do have a cold front in my area too, how'd you know?

I've just been waiting to see if any improvements came about or somebody gave me some more advice. Another site said it looked like nute burn, another said over watering, another said underwatering. Another said he couldnt tell me anything without knowing the pH level, lights, thigns like that.

They legit sleep and need to wake up? Some of the leaves are sstarting to curl upward and become a bit brittle. The plants have been going in cycles; one day they'll look like the pictures, the next they look like they've bounced back, an hour later they are back to the picture look. I'm thinking it might almost be time to move them to a 5 gallon bucket, they've been in the ground for 30 days now.

been growing long enough to know that barometric pressure effects plant life..
and have recorded similar drooping with weather fronts..

.. yeah,, I would take them out them cups now cause they have a few nodes, .. Keep your new soil neutral for a while, just use plain water..
Sorry we isa kindaofa slow moving weed forum.. [IMG]

I just moved them to their new and permanent homes, the 5 gallon buckets. It went well, it looks like it was at just thee right time. SLightly rootbound, enough to keep the soil clumped together. Didnt crush the plants, nothing. I think it went well for my first transplant ever. I have a couple of dubious looking plants, they may or may not die, I figured if there was ever a time for them to die, it would be right after the transplant. I'm expecting a few of them to not make it. Took your advice, no nutes right now, plain water (as opposed to?), and we'll see what happens.

I decided that it is my fan making them cold, but I need it to circulate air. What can I do short of piping in some sort of heat? The fan isnt blowing on the plants, but the space is semi small (small in wall closet).

If you have a furnace, you could get some flexy pipe and put it on a vent and have that blow slightly on the plants..

you should let them take before adding any nutes..

I noticed this morning they didnt look any better, one actually was noticeably worse. I really think that they're cold, I need to find a way to warm them up.

Looking at those pictures that I posted, they were just a few days shy of being one month old, do they look too small? Should they be larger?

I'm excited to see them grow up! (if they do)

What's the temp in your grow area with lights on, lights off? Whats the temperature of your soil? What's the pH of your soil?

I'm going to say somethingthat is going to make people die a little bit inside:I dont measure my pH in the water or the soil. Budgetary reasons. Can you give me the name of a cheap pH tester that is reliable?

I have my lights on 24hrs since they are just curly CFL's (6500K, 4 bulbs, 26watt draw, 100watt equivalent, and 2 CFL grow lights from Wal-Mart with a 17watt draw and 75 watt equivalent).I dont know the temperature of either my soil or room, but they are certainly not above 70F with the lights on.

i wouldnt keep them on a 24...try 18-6 max.....i am no expert but one of those pics looks like a clone off a flowering mother in which case it can some times take great patience waiting for them to revert back to the veg- state and get strong

also check that you have proper drainage...those styro cups can cause 'wet feet' which they do not like...

its usually something basic that snuffs the lives of so many innocent plants

I would go back to the 18-6, but when I originally switched over to 24hrs (I started at 18-6, found out that 24hrs is better with CFLs I switched) and they did noticeably better. I think I'm going to stay with 24hrs until I go to flowering.

There is good drainage now that I moved them to bigger homes. In the cups they had they had no drainage really, so hopefully things will improve.

And no actually, my plats started from seeds. I germinated and planted them.

There are plenty of options for pH testers and soil thermometers. And on CFLs, disregard the equivalent, it's not worth noting.

Anyways, ya it sounds a little cold, ideal temps would be in 72-76F range. At night it can drop 5-10 degrees, but you do not want more than 15. More than 15 will cause humidity problems. Also, you have some broad leaves which tends to happens when your grow area is too humid. Get a hygrometer to check levels, and I would look into getting a humidistat or dehumidifier. You want levels in the 55-60% range.

:( I just had to uproot my plants. I had a ridiculous drainage system which only consisted of a trash bag beneath the buckets. I apparently over watered my plants because my landlord came upstairs and said something was leaking from my closet. I pulled them up, cleaned everything up so now if he goes and checks there wont be anything there. Better safe than sorry. It hurt to pull them up, but after some deliberation, I felt it was for the best.

Thanks for all of your help! In a little bit I might make another go for it. Made some mistakes, learned some things, next time will be better. Thanks again!

Good idea, definitely better safe than sorry. Come back and share when you give it another attempt.
