Hey guys. Well after I had moved recently, I found within myself that it's not the right time in my life right now for locks. And I've come to accept it for what it is. Now it's not like I lost a year (Only around 2 months), but holy fucking hell is it hard to get out. I know WorldPeace combed her hair out, but are there any suggestions on how to make this easier? I'd rather not cut any of my hair. It sucks doing this, but I have to now Another thing that i found is that my spirituality is the same, without dreads, so it makes it easier for me to do this
A dreadfail? lol, no. It's just that it's not that time yet for me in my life. That and I live in a place with the highest unemployment rate (15%), so I don't need people judging me, that I looked like a stoner (Which I've had countless people say that I do lol)
Then just cut your hair, if your trying to look clean cut for a job. why even keep the long hair, they could think you still look like a stoner with long hair.
cool thank you guys, I appreciate the help and yeah I don't wanna cut it now, because I wanna see what it looks like after I get it styled (After about a week of messing with it so it lays down again) in a salon, maybe a nice layer
dude before i cut mine i combed one out. ur hair is going to be incredibly damaged. its better just to cut.
Ahoy Bro … your call and your situation … conditioner and oils and stuff … try not to break your hair by being too harsh with the comb. Jah don’t see you any differently with or without locks, it’s all about the works that H.I.M. started anyway. One Love!
i know lots of people in tampa, a few of them have dreads, there is a huge "hippy" population there, my ex lives there and goes to circles all the time and loves it due to the culture. as far as unemployment, your just not looking hard enough. go to a bar and you will have a job within an hour if you try. go somewhere where a lot of contracters and shit are, i.e. bars. talk to locals its not hard to find income till you get a specific job. also, you could get a job tending bar fairly easily. especially down in tampa. theres daylabor places, theres factories. i've been unemployed for extended periods of time but i'll be the first to admit it was mostly by choice and or lack of effort. if you know where to look the money is always ALWAYS there. even when i was unemployed, i never had a problem finding money. it is what it is. just sayin think about it a bit more next time cuz i know i hate it when somebody makes me knot up their hair and it stays for a few weeks before its straight again. no offense but saying your doing it due to unemployment is just an excuse, its justifying what you are doing to make it acceptable in your mind. if you want to comb then by all means do it, but really, no job is no excuse. but if you havent started yet really consider it before you start taking them out. locks arent for everybody, but if you want them, keep them, dont make excuses. your locks are only 2 months in, so ignore that comment about your hair being damaged, your hair hasnt been in locks long enough to really be all kinds of fucked up and fell out. there not mature enough to really be hard to get out either, just use a bunch of conditioner and take lots of showers with loads of that shit. your hair should be good enough to comb in a few days of that.
Well yeah I know down in Tampa it's not hard to get a job, though I moved up north to Michigan (Flint, to be exact) so, yeah, lol. No but I plan to go to an IT Job, not McDonalds so I hope you see why Still I have dreads at heart <3 Thanks though, we're headin up to walmart to get a bunch of conditioner and such.. now I gotta work on the shampoo buildup at my roots... it's like cement. I might try an ACV Rinse
I say cut. OH- and people are going o judge you no matter what. I feel like it is just that having something noticeable about you only makes people be more outspoken with what they already thinking. Does that make sense?
'sunny' translates to 90 degrees F in October, and 'fun and happy' just means boring. Unless you go to Busch Gardens *africa* then Florida is the best. OP- former Tampa man- been to Busch Gardens?
When I took out my first set that were only two months and I just lathered and lathered with conditioner and picked them apart. Took a few days.. lololol
I used a flee comb, just combing like a few hairs at a time. I heard people combing with a fork. Combing when my hair was wet worked best for me in the beginning, except for the wrinkly hand you get from that. Later on I felt like combing when the hair was dry worked better.. I wouldn't recommend washing everyday after combing a few out, because when I did that the dreads which were still locked just locked better and tighter everyday (especially at the root). It took me about 2 weeks to comb all out (around 60 dreads). Conditioning didn't do any good for me, I conditioned while having dreads too, it didn't do anything to my dreads at that time either.
Use Treseme extra silky conditioner.. they'll fall out. Pick at the bottoms when they're dry and get as much out as you can.. and when you get stuck lather treseme conditioner on and work it into your hair. You should be able to pull them apart pretty easily while they're lathered up. Considering how young they are I'm sure it will be easier than WP's hair.
