Hansen's seems to think they own copyright on the word "Monster." The "Monster" energy drink-maker, Hansen Beverage Co., wants tiny Rock Art Brewery of Morrisville, VT to stop using the name "Vermonster" on it's barley brew and to compensate it for its attorneys' fees. The small, locally owned brewery is not in violation of any copyright and the legal fees to prove it will surely bankrupt the company. This is a clear case of corporate America bullying small business. This can not be tolerated in this day and age. This group proposes a boycott against Hansen's Natural products until the corporation drops it's legal proceedings. Hansen's Natural products include: Monster brand energy drinks Hansen's Natural soda Blue Sky soda Ace energy drink Joker Mad Energy drink Lost energy drink Rumba energy drink Hansen's Tea Diet Red energy drink Hansen's Energy Pro Primal Energy Tea Hansen's bottled juice Juice Slam! juice boxes Junior Juice juice boxes Junior Water juice boxes Fizzit vitamin and mineral drink Hansen's Natural Sparkling Sleek Hansen's Natural Sparkling Teas I have set up a Facebook group for those interested: http://www.************/group.php?gid=154717192828&ref=mf
I'm with you man, Hansen's doesn't have a legal leg to stand on, yet they have the legal fire power to drive the little guys into the ground. I'm impressed that these guys are fighting back tho, it's high time. Rock Art Brewery puts out some damn good beer too. And to think, I used to like Monster energy drinks, particularly their coffee, but if they're gonna be pricks I won't buy their stuff anymore, fuck 'em. It looks like public outrage over this worked, a major victory for Rock Art Brewery (and common sense).
