I babysat my nephew for the first time in probably a couple of months. He's almost two and probably the cutest kid at least here in the town I live in. Anyway, he's OBSESSED with vacuum cleaners. I mean every fourth or fifth word out of his mouth is "VACUUM". It was funny at first, but it's frankly started to drive me nuts. The entire time he was here he played with the vacuum cleaner. My brother brought over a bunch of toys in which he wanted nothing to do with. Just vacuumed all day. I mean, hell, I'd love to hire the kid a few times a week to do it for me...But isn't that weird? Where do you think it came from...even since he was a baby, he'd watch my sister-in-law vacuum the house so intently. And since then it has grown into this CRAZY obsession. My sister-in-law was OBSESSED with cleaning when she was pregnant, could this behavior have stemmed from that? I also noticed, while trying to do dishes today while he was here, he wanted to help rinse the dishes. The kid is going to be a neat freak. *laughs*
LOL. Many kids like to clean for some reason, but I dont know about being obessed with it. Its usually a phase. My neice got a vaccum for christmas last year, and was the only toy she played with. Now she love the barbies, and probably the vaccum is collecting dust.
That's too funny! LOL... Ya know, dirt devil makes a child sized vacuum that really works. Just a thought, since it's almost Christmas.
Actions and fears during pregnancy do not cause behaviors or physical changes in the fetus. Her actions after his birth may have, though. Kids get weirdly obssesed about the weirdest thing. My 5 year old cleans the floor with wet paper towel. She can do the kitchen, ALL the floor. I don't know why. She likes to do it. And I am far from a clean freak.
my two year old loves to clean too. He loves to do the dishes, sweep the floor, feed his brother and anything else I do. I think its cute. I think he just wants to help out and be a big boy. At gatherings he trys to wash dishes, he gathers firewood and help in anyway he can... I think hes going to make a great husband someday! lol I don't think his future wife will be able to do any of the housework because he'll want to do it all. Nothing seems wrong to me that he likes the vacuum. He probably just wants to help. Think about it... as a little guy that vacuum looks fun. Its a big loud machine that eats stuff up... sounds exciting to me. lol
It's really not weird at all. I know of like 5 kids off the top of my head that like vacumes too. For one it makes a weird noise...it's loud and kids are curious wtf it is..it sucks thing into oblivion and it has long tubes! waht more could you want as a toddler hahaha.. My kid loves everything about cleaning sweeping dishes laundry etc...but he hates the vacume. Also If there is something he likes a lot right now and he's really into it...he'll play with it nonstop for a while...then it's onto something else. It's good for him.
yeah my aunt bought a dustbuster for her grandson for xmas, since he loved hers so much.. best $30 she ever spent. hahhahha.
my son croix has one of those mini dirtdevil dustbusters too... got it for xmas last yr too. He loved his and vacuumed everyday lol
