Hey, I haven't posted on these forums in a long time but I read a couple books and gotta share them with everyone. If you have not gotten a chance to check these out, give them a chance. It is about his life, and starts off with him as a cocky college student/athlete. he finds the path to enlightenment through a couple teachers in a couple of books. This guy really knows what he is talking about and has a great way of telling the story. It really spoke to me and has inspired me to make some changes in my life. Can you guys direct me towards another novel I can pick up for a similar type of story that can keep me motivated to be an all around better person? Peace and love.
There's a sequel as well, in case you didn't know: The Sacred Journey of the Peaceful Warrior. Not as inspiring, IMO, but still offers some legitimate spiritual insights. Also in the same vein as Peaceful Warrior is The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield, as well as Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsh. Storytelling, accessible New Age spirituality. And of course, there's always Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda, which is probably one of the most powerful and eclectic accounts of a spiritual journey ever written. Travis
Thank you so much for the help Travis. I am actually on the last chapter of the Sacred Journey right now, and have no other books to turn to. I will be checking out the ones you mentioned. Thank you. Peace and love.
I read this book in college. Excellent read. If you like Dan Millman you will like Richard Bach as well. Start with 'Jonathan Livingston seagull' and then read 'Illusions'.
Way of the Peaceful Warrior was a very enjoyable read. I'm rereading The Celestine Prophecy now. I loved it the first time I read it about 5 years ago but now it all seems pretty corny.
