I've been off dairy for awhile now...I can't find any goats milk, I was told that the larger the animal the harder the milk can be on the gut (which i have issues with..my gut, not animal sizes...I'm relatively good at size comparisons...ahh not very punny)

So, lately I'm into almond milk which is dead easy to make! making food is even better imho

Yeah the only milk-like substance I consume is almond milk. I dont know where you heard that the larger the animal the harder the milk is on your gut; it might be true although I've never heard that, if the milk is pasteurized then its hard on your digestive system and a poor source of nutrients no matter what.

So far in my opinion: pasteurized animal milk, and soy milk are junk, I'm ambivalent about rice milk, and I can only bring myself to consume a cup of almond milk a day. If someone's trying to derive most of their calcium from a milk-like beverage they should really reconsider.

Rice milk all the way for me. But I've never been able to comsume animal milk so I can't comment on the similarity, I'm told animal, especially cows milk is much richer and far less sweet, more kind of sour? So it may need some transitioning. Soya isn't as sweet as rice milk so maybe that could be tried if you found sweet milk odd to start with. You can even get it totally unsweetened (although this made my stomach turn the time I tried it, yuck) Be careful of milk that uses white sugar. It is unnecessary

I'm not a huge fan of almond but I'll use it. I bet it's much better made at home though. Oat milk I found to be a big mistake and waste of money, it was watery and nasty

The Idea that pasteurized milk is inherently unhealthy is just nonsense.

Pasteurization makes a large amount of the calcium insoluble and so anyone treating pasteurized milk as their major source of calcium is going to be missing important minerals in their diet. It's kind of scary listening to all of the advertising deception, tricking people into thinking that a few cups of milk a day is actually giving them the optimal amount of daily calcium.
