http://www.booksnbytes.com/authors/harris_charlaine.html Charlaine Harris writes them. They, are better by far than season one and just better in general.
Yes, I know all that but my objection remains. I would not eat while crying. I would not do a lot of things while eating. It didn't look like a pecan pie at all. There were far better ways of being symbolic.
Season 2 was far, far better for me than season one. They deviated from the books a good bit this year too but mostly in good ways. They made the tv show more interesting because we didn't know everything this season. Mary Anne wasn't in the books at all. Jason being any little bit of good wasn't either. Suddenly characters and story lines got more complex. I look forward to season three. Some variations I'm not pleased with: Alternate ways people became vampires and who their sires are. The Dallas bomb NOT blowing up a hotel or killing many people but merely a house.
Love the show, i cried on episode 02X09 i will rise up. godric. Im not a big Eric fan, but ive heard that they will have a love triangle. I personally liked Amy, her character was great (it cracked me up), but couldnt stand maryann. Ive read that season 3 will have werewolves, and that there might be answers on what sookie really is. (they may change it to surprise the audience) I wonder if they will bring back Barry (the telepathic bellboy at the vampire hotel). I have no idea who took Bill, I thought it would be Eric, because of the Queen, but then it could be Lorena, or some shocking surprise. Im also really excited to find out about Sam's birth parents. that will be interesting.
i follow it religiously. it's super good. and addictive. i was really disappointed with this season's finale, though. so anti-climactic...:ack2:
What they've shown so far on the series is again, a rather big departure from the book. I don't know yet if I like it but I think I do!
I get all choked up when I'm crying. I might could drink but I couldn't eat and if I did it would taste yucky.
So these are your reasons why they should have chosen a different symbol for Sookie's grief: -You personally wouldn't eat while crying: I'm sorry, but I know many a girl (myself included) who after a crappy day has plopped down on the couch with a pint of Häagen-Dazs and went to town on it while blubbering over a sappy movie. Maybe you think that's gross or improper or impolite or what-have-you, but sometimes, we just don't give a damn about those things. -The pie they used was an inaccurate prop: Come on, now, isn't that a little petty given the circumstances? Maybe it's been in the fridge for a week and it's getting a little gooey, maybe it's an extra-special recipe and that adds to the symbolism that there will never be another like it (just like there will never be another Gran), maybe Anna Paquin hates pecan pie and they whipped up something special for her that she could eat without gagging and ruining the scene, maybe there was originally a beautiful pie and someone got hungry and stole it from the fridge (FIRE THEM!) and they had to whip something up quick at the last second because time is money in show-business just like every business, or maybe- just maybe- the prop department didn't put in very much time and effort making sure the pie looked like a real pecan pie and only made it a suggestion of a pecan pie so that we would recognize it as such as the appearance of the pie wasn't the point of the scene. I'm sorry to come off as combative, but I really find all this pie-hate to be ridiculous. It's obviously not just you, and you have a right to your opinion, of course, but what a trifle (dessert pun not intended) to concern oneself with. The bigger question is this: How does anyone ever enjoy anything when little things like this bother them?
I just said it bothered me. It made me kind of feel like I was choking just watching it. The pie itself was so fake looking that it bothered on a whole other level. Both things broke my willful suspension of disbelief which isn't a good thing generally for someone when you are watching something like this. If that's petty to you, fine. I still have a right to say it and feel it that way. Oh and I enjoy a great many things in life including the parts of this show that I like.
Coming back to this almost three years later, I feel like a moron for actually arguing this. But seriously, everyone was talking about that pie... I couldn't take it anymore! 0_o
Love this show! The books are absolutely amazing! wish the show would have followed the books quite a bit closer though
Tru Blood is another series that my husband and I watch. We are anxiously waiting for the next season to start. My husband introduced me to this. Last Thanksgiving I watched all the episodes to get caught up and ready for the last one-so glad I did because now I understand what is going on and why. I do have to admit one season (can't remember at the moment) got kinda weird and thought about not watching it anymore, but glad I didn't make that mistake.
love this show. I don't have cable/sattelite so I purchase the seasons when they become available. I have the first three seasons so far. Glitterbug- was that season two? The one with Marianne? lol it got tiring. I love love love Lafayette.
Yeah I watch it, I think my lady would kill me if I didn't get the new episodes. lol I think it interesting to watch, for one aspect I was born and raised in baton rouge, louisiana. [Don't live there anymore.] funny thing is they don't film it in lousiana for the most part. They did a decent job.
