Well yesterday the temp was 36 and biting cold since it was raining. So, after 69 and one half days of being constantly barefoot (owning no shoes at all), I was forced to go get a pair. What ever happened to fall? On the positive side the claim is that next Tuesday on it will get back into the 60's......yay!
Yeah, it's the time of year when I'm getting a bit selective about going barefoot as well. Even the warm days are only in the 60's (although we might hit 70 this weekend!). During the summer I can go barefoot and sort of blend in - lots of sandals when it's 90 outside. Those who see my bare feet at those temps are likely envious they don't have the "nads" to do it themselves. In October people are starting to pull out the long pants, boots, etc. I stand out a bit more this time of year. I still get little flack, I'm just a lot more conspicuous. Unfortunately big snows and freezing temperatures will soon seal my fate till Spring (although I can usually get in a day or two on an odd 50 deg day in December/January!).
hillman - I'm proud of you for making it as long as you did! I must admit that I sometimes become a big wuss with colder weather, especially now that I'm still fighting a sinus infection. I hope that the weather gets warmer and doesn't get cold too soon after that.
maby we might call that the dole over here, they make it hard to get if you have already had a job and quit or have qualiacations i think, im finishing up some time soon to travel then ill be free, yee haa
yeah this is the time of year that I gradually start reluctantly applying the footwear although I'll be wearing flip-flops for as long as possible. Mind you we had some georgious autumn days here last week so I barefooted it on the school run and to college. Only problem is I'm in bed with the lurgy today and my partner's putting it down to last week's barefooting. Occupational hazard I'd say! Still it's lovely having my girls waiting on me hand and foot, every cloud has a silver lining eh
We had two beautiful days yesterday and today, so I went barefoot I just hope it stays this way, but I doubt it. The weather forecast looks grim, especially later in the week.
