So when I first started my dreads I bought these KB "dread teas". I proceeded to make my own using home-grown herbs, but I was wondering if adding incense would be foolish or not. I was thinking of just powdering some, and adding it to a strong tea, then using a spray bottle to apply to dreads, for fun and good smell. Might this build up and not wash out? Might it irritate my scalp? Or might it make mah dreads smell dee-lish with no negative repercussions? Any thoughts? I know essential oils would work better but they're expensive and I don't have any.

It sounds unnecessary to me, but as long as you don't over do it and wash it out thoroughly on a regular basis.. but then again, I'm wary of putting random shit in my hair. Clean hair smells best. Anything added to it detracts from that.

wtf are essential oils? If they're so essential, why do you have to add them, wouldn't your body already make them?

i mean essential oils of certain plants... come to think of it, I have no clue why they are so "essential".

Mainly I just love the smell of the incense i'm burning right now... don't know what it is tho, I guess that would help. I do realize it is completely unnecessary, but I'm curious.

Essential oils are called "essential"in the sense that they carry a distinctive scent, or essence, of the plant.

It has nothing to do with being "essential" to a person.
