So under a libertarian government, some things would be regulated?

Yes, libertarianism is limited government, that government is a necessary evil. If you want anarchy go to Somalia.

Yes, but your poor ass couldn't afford one. Get a job you lazy hippie.
Probably, but half of them would be defective because with walmart your getting shotty chinese sweatshop labor.

But in all seriousness, if the united states elected a libertarian majority, buying bombs at walmart would be legal?

If bombs were considered arms, It would probably be put up to state law. And all 50 states have explosive regulation.

This, most of what is illegal at the federal level is also illegal at the state level.

there is a huge difference between an assault rifle or handgun and a nuke. assault rifles and handguns an be used for protection, sport, hunting and what not.

there is so reason for someone to have a nuke. they cant be used for anything but harm to others... its called common sense

Really, you should be asking if nuclear technology would have ever developed without a strong central government.

i was thinkin about that too. and to the op: what you're describing would be the most extreme form of libertarianism. I am libertarian ( and just a bit to the left...not talkin about my wang lol) myself but I don't think people should be able to walk around with nukes tho....those things are really fuckin dangerous...all it would take is one crazy fuck and everyone would be dead:eek:

There actually have been test in using nuclear weapons in that way:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peaceful_nuclear_explosions
It's generally just not practical though, especially because of nuclear fall out.

Though ironically for better or worse nuclear weapons would not exist without a massive government funded program. The Manhattan project cost about $25-30 billion in today's money.
