So I have a buddy who decided he wanted to "matt" his hair up. He had about 3-4 inches of hair. He started using the palm of his hand to rub his scalp and hair in a counterclockwise direction. After doing this every day for like a week, he started getting these wicked little "spike dreads" everywhere, he probably had like 60 or 70 or so. They looked really good, and surprisingly neat. He was just washing his hair with water everyday, and they were locking up pretty fast, till he had these wicked 1 cm thick perma spikes/dreads that would stick straight up and just look wild. I think if he had grown them they would have turned into gnarly dreads. Sadly enough however, he ended up cutting them off after a major life-change. Just wondering what people think of this. Has anyone heard of this "technique?"

yeah wool is great for knotting up hair, even wearing a wool toque (pardon: beanie) woud give me mad knots. I was just surprised with how quickly he got tons of these sweet little knotty spikes. I know someone else who's doing that sometimes on his dreadums, so we shall see how it progresses.

    thats sweet.
A guy from school managed to form some pretty sweet knots by playing a certai frequency sound through his subwoofer. The insane vibrations caused his hairs to stand on end and shake and twist into knots.

He did this for 4 hours a day for 3 months. By the end of the 3 months they looked like they were atleast 1.5-2 years old

Oh my goodness gracious! This marks the beginning of a dread revolution! I must beat knotty boy to this and patent the vibratronic dread technique. I could even charge a few grand to train people into official uh "vibatitions". Victory is nigh!
