yeah i agree that the green industry is the direction to move in. it might be the next big boom. what i dont agree with is the 700 billion in bailout money that did nothing to create jobs. it was litterally a shot in the dark and i think its just wasteful. now if he would have taken those 700 billion and said, fuck the banks and their ceo's that ran the companies into the ground, and invested the money into something that would create jobs i would have been behind him 100%.

He may accidentally do something smart, but he's not on track yet. He's going to run us bankrupt. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so.

Obviously Obama has not let his education go to his head.

LOL. I think he was an attorney before politics. Have to have some kind of intelligence to become a practicing attorney. I think he is a sharp man.

Obama inherited quite a mess, including an economic crisis unlike anything seen in generations. Oh, and a war- no, a couple of wars. I think Obama's the best man for the job, but the damage done during the previous administration may well be beyond fixing.

that's pretty much how i feel.

he's up there and people are all happy now that we have a "progressive black president" in office.

our situation hasn't changed, we're still in a lot of shit. there's still a lot of work to be done and people can't just sit back.

obamas election was a good way to pacify the outrage felt by most of america. and it worked. but nothing's really different at this point except for the man at the head of the table.

I guess it's about time for the U.S. to be brought down to size. China should become the worlds next superpower and richest nation. They really know how to control the masses, and aren't afraid of executing those politicians that are corrupt. I guess Obama was right, the Constitution needs to be rewritten allowing the government to act in ways to make everyone equal and redistribute the wealth. The middle class has gotten too large. Good luck to all of you.

You left out the "BIG" one, transform America from a Constitutional founded Republic based on laws and comprised of free individuals into an Authoritarian Socialist Democracy, based on Marx and Engels comprised of a government controlled collective.
While Obama may hold the title of President, I tend to see this as the Rahm Emanuel administration, not wishing to diminish George Soros, but he's really only in it for the profit.
Bill Maher may be right, most Americans may be stupid, but that's only a result of having allowed our schools to packed with Liberal educators.

A nation of good laws treats everyone equally, but leaves it to the individuals to provide for their needs. For a government to take responsibility of providing the needs of the less capable or those who are irresponsible, people have to allow the government to define what there freedoms are, and rights of some begin to exist at the cost of freedom to others. There will always be those who have more than others, but should the "haves" simply be the rulers and the "have nots" simply be the ruled? Isn't that essentially how the Constitution was written to avoid happening? The country was not founded as a Democracy as the founders all recognized that Democracies led to eventual failure as a simple majority of 51% could lead to the oppression of the remaining 49%. Who was it that said "A government that has the power to provide all your needs also has the power to take all you have."?

If Americans don't open their eyes quickly to what is taking place today they will find that may possibly destroyed the possibility of humans ever regaining any desirable form of freedom, and will have allowed a centralized world government to be formed which will eliminate the possibility of ever once again acquiring what the founders set out to provide us.

    Gitmo is still open
    We're still in Iraq
We're sending more troops to Afghanistan because of the mess it is.

    About those points?

I'm hoping I am correct in assuming that "thesaint" meant for his post to be taken facetiously.

Never have the U.S. or the citizens been in such a perilous position as today. Freedom is not something that is given by a government, but IS something that can be taken away by government. A government by the people must begin with the people and not with the elected politicians that are supposed to be representing their constituents and NOT their political party or any other special interest groups.
