in the sky, the light that illuminates the night
the cool sweet blue glow of her sweet shine
like a mother smiling down on her sleeping babe
i bask in the cool breeze that follows her

the days are long and hot and tired
sunshine rules the day gives life to all
but when he goes down his final colored burst of glory
my sweet mother moon comes and heals the wounds of the day

she rules the hours of darkness with her legions of stars
and what once felt like a world of here and now
so bright and bold beating down with heat and light
her world is one of infinity and wonder forever in the heavens
