I feel terrible.... Is this my fault?

I just got a call..... A very sad call. I can't help but feel like this is partially my fault somehow...

My best friends girlfriend just broke up with him. She was like his only real girlfriend and she was the chick who took his V card.. He's gonna be sad for a long time now probably....

It's weird because his relationship was so fake.... He liked her a lot... He just didn't know how to say it to her or anything because he's kinda shy...

I know he imitates the way I act when he's alone with his girlfriend. Me and my buddies know he's been doing that whenever were not around.. I don't mean he imitates me in a bad way... He just acts like I do because he wants to have a relationship with a girl that he could talk to, not just fool around with...

So here's what happened apparently. Him and his girlfriend were arguing and stuff and he said "shut you whorish mouth" when he did that she freaked out and left him for good.

I feel bad because I know he got that saying from me.... That's one of my classic lines I say to my girlfriend.. I say it to her at least once a day, sometimes even 2 or 3 times. But when I say it it's a joke, and she completely knows that. I don't use that insult when were in a real argument, I would never call her a name if we were mad at each other because A) She's smarter than I am and would just think I'm immature. And B) It's not the way to solve shit.

He's always seen me call my girlfriend names and stuff he probably thinks that's what a teenage relationship is. I didn't know I had such an impact on my friends.... He probably only copies me subconsciously but that's still bad I guess...

This has made me realize that maybe I'm not a good role model... Not that I am a role model to anybody, but if I was I'd be a bad one.

So do any of you guys think this is my fault? I think it is a little bit because I influenced his vision on how to act to a girlfriend...

I know most of the guys on this site won't give a shit about this thread (me and my guy buddies wouldn't give a shit either haha). Actually know that I think about it this is more of a guy thread.. Most guys just try to act like their too cool to have feelings about this kind of shit.

well if it matters.... I dont think its your fault man.... he made the choice to say that, you never directly told him to tell his girlfriend that. he choose to say it. whether or not your a good role model is completely a matter of someones opinion. parents would probably say no while your buddy seems to think otherwise.

Now that I think about it it's not my fault at all. He's too dumb to treat his girlfriend right so he lost her. It's the way she goes.

also you didnt make him say it, he is young, naiive and apparently easily influenced in times of confusion...it sucks that it came to that, but as you said you did not whisper in his ear, "shut your whorish mouth" as they were fighting...

tell him to express his feelings, communication is key, and who knows maybe if he pours out what he has been holidng in all this time then something may come of their relationship in the future...maybe not, but its good to learn how to communicate emotionally, it will benefit all of his future relationships
