throat burning

so i've been smoking for about a month and a half. I have noticed that when ever i take a hit from a pipe it still hurts my throat as it goes down. When my body gets a little more used to it will the burning stop? Because i wish that when I smoke a pipe i would be able to take hits like i take from a bong.

 

It could be the pipe you're using, metal pipes and what not burn harshly, so the smoke will sometimes burn your throat. It could just be shitty bud.

 

its a glass pipe. Its pretty good bud, maybe i just have to get used to it. i never pass it up. its just annoying sometimes.

 

Hm, well I did have the same thing happen to me a lot. I think you'll be fine, I dealt with a burning throat from it for a good while, the smoke can just be 'harsh' for some people. Just don't do it to often, like every day, while it's doing that until you are more sure of what the problem is.

 

yeah also ALOT of noobies have the problem of over-lighting thier weed. what i mean is that you are burning way too much, too fast, by sparking your lighter and then burning away a ton of weed. all you need to do is light up a tiny corner of your bowl and the rest will catch as you toke.

 

Pick those stems out

 

i made the mistakes with the stems the first few times now i have that. seems i'm just over lighting it i guess. i smoke like everyweekend so i dont smoke too much. thanks for the advice.

 

yeah no worries these are really common mistakes. i couldnt count the number of times i see people new to weed burning an entire bowl and coughing their lungs out. a bowl should last a lot of hits, and it becomes an art to light just one bit and watch that ember spread...

another thing, make sure you are pulling nice and evenly on the pipe, not like you would on a joint (where you'd puff quick, usually)... take 'er easy, have some water handy, you shouldn't have any probs.

 

^thats y its better if you have a vape, no need for a lighter and once you figure what temp. it does best and turn it on. Conservation in this recession

 

but im sure hiding a lighter is alot easier than hiding a vape.

 

I don't have to hide it, but vapes come in different sizes, some plug in and some are handheld battery operated, so if u can hide a lighter yes u can hide a vape.

 

oh, i always thought they were kinda big. i didnt know there were smaller models, sounds cool.

 

well the bigger ones are better but they all work it's like comparing a pipe to a bong or a one hitter to a reg. pipe the one hitter will do the job but the pipe is better cuz u don't have to keep reloading it. I've smoked for a few yrs now and I can make a reg size bowl last through 2-3 vape sessions

i have a vape as well, but they are generally a real bitch for a person new to weed to learn to use. gotta have a pro show ya

 

I think people in general new to weed or not, it took me 3 days to figure out how to get the most outta my vape and it's only a week old so I could possibly figure more things out, they really should include a guide with it.

 

haha i've had mine for a few years now. mine came with a tiny booklet and you're totally right, whether you are new or not it takes a little while. What kind of vape did you get? I have a hands-free VaporWarez that I got on eBay way back when. It's easy to spill weed with it if you are baked out of your mind and not really watching what you're doing. i always wait a while to introduce people to it.

 

so how much does a decent vaporizer cost?

 

I bought the ez vape about 1week or so ago after my glass piece busted RIP, and it arrived in a box full of bubble rap and then there was another box open it get the wip the stem and the vape, there was also a very small clear glass piece still not sure what it is b/c there are two holes in it and when u vape you would only need one, I guess it could double as a 1 hitter. But anyways mine came with no instruction manual at all and it took me a second to figure out how to put it together b/c there's 3 different parts. But I really like this thing, it's not much of a social toker b/c it takes a min. to warm up, but if you are a pothead such as I am and smoke all the time it is great.

I got mine on ebay, also came with no instructions. It took us like 20 minutes to figure it out. Mine isn't the greatest. I have to load like a gram to fill the whip enough for it to work. But it gets me and a few buddies really really ripped.
