Racism: inevitable?

Every ethnic group seems themselves as competing with every other group, and each group thinks they're the best.

Therefore, each group is "racist," meaning (a) recognizes inherent differences between races and (b) prefers its own group to others.

The worst racists of all are those from the "I have no race or are of mixed race" category. They get to hate on every other group at the same time.

Is there a solution? Or is "diversity" unworkable?

Totally true. What I find rather annoying is that its our natural instinct to categorize people, which is racist and deemed un-acceptable.

People are and people will be racist. That we can be certain.

Totally agree. I've seen worse from other cultures. In my college there was a a segregated group of Muslims, headed by the Somalian girls. They would not allow anyone into their circle unless they were African or Arab and you had to be a Muslim. White people need not apply. I don't think I'd ever heard them say a kind word to me the entire time.

This is just racist in itself. The only people who prefer to be with their own race is those that have generally only lived with their own race to begin with. Get out more.

 

Evolution proceeds slowly.

 

For those that evolve,evolution is for the furtherance of the efficacy of their continued survival.Given that racism and all that it entails/has entailed, is detrimental to human progress--I conclude that humans have not evolved in a timely enough manner in order to progress to a planet free of racism.Same with other issues=differant thread.

Lack of cultural awareness and diversity is what racism stems from.

From my experience ONLY white people are racists, and as for the rest of us; neither do we possess

Racists or not you should be proud of your aryan heritage; you have a long and storied past full of traditions and legends, along with a rich and noble way of life which values honor, loyalty, and duty above all else

That is not a fair or accurate assumption, at all. I fall into that category, as do most of my close family members and friends. If anything, it gives us a more well-rounded outlook on the issue of racism. We do not 'hate on' other races just because we do not fit into a certain category.

For you to make such accusations/generalizations about a certain group or race is RACISM.

Racism is not inevitable or an issue for all of us, but clearly, you seem to struggle with it.

My ancestors came out of Africa some 200,000 years ago but my more immediate ancestry is Scottish (via Ireland) and French (via Scandinavia), I was born in England one of the provinces of Britain, which is also called the United Kingdom. We are part of a European Union that I believe comprises 27 states (I've lived and worked in three but travelled in many others) and has 24 languages, of which the most widely spoken is German, but because of the similarity of language the British often look to some of its old empire rather than to continental Europe, so much so that because of the number of imported cop shows many here know as much (if not more) about the US judicial system than their own, and many children think the emergency number is 911 (in the UK it is 999 Europe wide it is 112).
We are also a member of the United Nations and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.
