Having watched some recent shows about the JFK assassination on the History Channel, something occurs to me. I once visited Dealy Plaza and checked out the picket fence behind the grassy knoll. Why does no one ever bring up the obvious fact that it would have been a ridiculous place to shoot from? Lots of people including police ran over there after they thought they heard gunfire coming from there, but they saw no one standing there or running away, no car driving off. Yes three hobos were seen in the area and were questioned and released. No gun was ever found. What assassin with any common sense would pick such a spot? The odds of making a clean getaway were practically nil. Was it Oswald who shot from the book depository? Probably. Was he part of a conspiracy? Could be. But I don't believe there was a second shooter.
Old news, really. Kennedy's assassination was an obvious conspiracy (hate to use such a loaded word) -- how it was done is pretty much a moot point.
The reason why he was assassinated seems more important then the fact of how he was assassinated. Anyone figure that out yet?
It seems to me that he was generally not as co-operative or quiet about what he knew as his handlers would have liked. He had issues with the Federal Reserve, etc. There's a lot of good info out there on it, and even more bullshit. Separating the wheat from the chaff is the bulk of the work.
unfortunately it was the CIA....Kennedy wanted to stop using the federal reserve and focus on bringing back the use of gold silver as an important tender. What an easier way of closing the case than assassinating the man (oswald) who supposedly did the assassinating...
i don't believe the fatal shot was fired from the tenth floor of a building. as for the rest of it, i believe there is a very high probability it was fired by accident, and at fairly close range. oswald was in town and had a gun. and there was a gun on that tenth floor. while a great deal has been made of proving these two things, even taken together they don't add up to having had to have had anything to do with what happened. and they're really the only things that have been proven. other then ruby killing oswald.
Theories have blamed the CIA, the FBI, Castro, Kruschev, the Mafia, Lyndon Johnson, the "powers that be who are really running this country" or any combination of the above. There are files on the assassination which have never been made public, but I doubt they'd contain anything startling. If they do I imagine it would be erased. It's been 46 years and it's highly unlikely that the absolute truth will ever be known. We'll also never know what the world would be like if Kennedy had lived and gone on to a 2nd term. Would we be better off today? Or would he have plunged us into WWIII, like he nearly did in his first term? And hey, if he had lived, would he have escalated Vietnam like Johnson did? And if he hadn't, does that mean the counter-culture of the 60s would have never taken hold? In other words, NO HIPPIES?! It's all too mind boggling.
