...people being the more deadly and the most dangerous beings on a planet? Notes to review first: 1. People kill way more for food and clothing than any other animal. 2. "People" houses murderers which no other animal houses. Or, is that what it has to stay meaning naturally being "people?" As in, there isn't anything so wrong with people being the more deadly and the most dangeous beings on a planet?
Wrong from whose perspective? The animals that get killed? Yes. The humans doing the killing? No. From humans who resent other humans destroying the planet? Maybe. It's a very good thing that we're the most deadly species but if we use our deadliness to kill everything in sight, destroy natural habitats of animals and cause other species to go extinct through our negligence and greed then I would say that's a bad thing. For me it's good spiritual practice to respect the environment and only consume what I need. I can't really make that statement for anyone other than myself though.
Compared to "other" animals we are dangerous, look how many humans there are compared to any other creature on this planet. We do kill animals, there are some who kill other people, we demolish animal habitats and wonder why we have so many bears, and other wildlife appearing in neighborhoods, etc. I myself, hunt, but for food, or due to animals killing our critters. I don't blame an animal for coming and killing our chickens or ducks, HOWEVER, I will look for "evidence" and will look for the animal. I don't believe in trapping, as I believe if an animal is smart enough not to get caught, then it deserves to live. I don't hunt to just kill, as I don't think that is right, but to each his own. Not everyone is alike however, some do not eat animals or hunt. Just remember that with any creature whether bug, mammal, aquatic, etc, they "hunt" for food. They try and overcome other colonies, they look to flourish. I believe that now a days our lives are too "easy", we can usually find everything in a store (there is still bargain hunting, lol, sorry couldn't help it). Not like other animals that start to disappear because they have themselves and their "pack" to count on. Anymore most humans are out to take care of themselves, and could care less about anyone else. Enough of my rambling....hope this makes sense.
Yes there's something wrong with us. Killing each other for food, fine, I can understand that. But torture, genocide, human sacrifice, murder just out of compulsion? We take it too far. And then of course we go to the other extreme where some people will refuse to eat another animal and devote their lives to protecting other people/animals and the environment. As a species we're fundamentally insane.
Something has to be the apex predator and it happens to be us. From a standpoint of our own welfare we are doing a lot of things wrong. We certainly can do better than we do now in many things. Among them is greatly more population controls.
