How long will adderall keep me awake?

I took a 30mg capsule twelve hours ago. It was my first time taking it and I was told it would last 6-8 hours but I'm still wide awake. Regardless, I gotta say, what a great study-drug!

 

should be wearing off...smoke some weed or drink some beers should help you pass out. i never take adderall after 2 cus i know i wont fall asleep

 

was it XR? if so it's going to be a while.

but i agree with deadhead, i actually never do amphetamines after noon unless i plan on being awake into the next day. even after the "high"/stimulation wears off i find it basically impossible to sleep for about 15 hours after i dose (this is instant release, btw), and then it stays pretty difficult for a while after. but i do doses upwards of 60mg with no tolerance so that may be why

 

Yes, it was XR and I was able to fall asleep around 6am. I actually went out for a bowl right after I posted this and I was so paranoid about getting caught by campus police. Every little noise made me panic. After finishing the bowl, I lit up a cigarette and not 2 minutes later I hear a twig crack right behind me. I spin around and there's a police officer standing right behind me. I almost shit myself. I say hello and then showed him that I was only smoking a cigarette and he walked away. What a douche bag for creeping up behind me; he definitely wouldn't have done that if he thought I was just smoking a cigarette.
Anyway, because I have a midterm and a test tomorrow, I took another 30mg this afternoon and I plan on studying through the night. I have an extra 15mg that I'll probably pop around 5am to keep me going for most of the day. After tonight / tomorrow, I'm gonna be done with adderall for awhile.
