what do you think about artificial intelligence? you can be as specific or general as you'd like. there are many applications. are you concerned about its potential? concerned about human motive? how do you see artificial intelligence in our future?
there are a lot of things we've learned how to do that haven't been done very much, because there really isn't that much useful incentive to do them. a few we might be better off to do or have done. some of those, in time will occur. as for machine sentience, such as a.i. usually, or more romantically refers to, well i just don't see that much incentive, outside of curiosity, for a lot of effort to be put into its persuit. a variety of things, almost but not quite there, which serve their variety of purposses, will of course continue being developed. any one of which COULD develop into a true machine a.i. but there's no real high probability of their doing so, however romantic the notion that they might, and the moral questions they raise to explore.
A.I. is interesting, but I do think that anything we want a machine to do, we can make it do without giving it "sentience". The Mars rovers have some intelligence, in that they're designed to find their own paths in the dust and rocks, but that's all the intelligence they need. Any more is a waste. The only situation I see sophisticated A.I. being truly useful in is entertainment, providing truly intelligent game challengers. Technically, any computerized game opponent is an A.I., but so far they're still fairly predictable in their actions.
artificial intell : human relates to a random-action machine and this results in augmented human intelligence . the machine appears to be friendly and smart and will love as much as you love . the machine speaks universal language randomly . it has no intention - nor orderliness . one existing example : any random-oracle device - ha , just make Qiji the brain of a robot ? Sony played with this concept and introduced a randombot to a kindergarten class - unexpectedly , the way the kids evolved to understand and love it un-nerved the teachers . the bot was programmed with random body-language . so , no matter the sequence of human-like motion whatever it said always had potential meaning . this is one dialect of universal language . dance . children responded to the point of intimacy . the adults wanted to murder it .
Artificial Intelligence, I predict, is going to become extremely complex within the next 50 years. I can see A.I. matching and surpassing human intelligence in a bunch of different ways. We can benefit much from A.I.. The scary thing will be when they begin to think for themselves and make judgments of their own.
U see I think short of sci fi movies there is no reason to be scared of intelligent machines. First of all an advance AI would be build on sound logic not like our brains that where not created smart we had to evolve and the after mark of this is emotions which were very useful in avoiding danger situations or attracting us to other situations which were beneficial to us and all done trough emotions automatically not trough thinking. Of course we have evolved since then we dot just do what feels good we think before we act hens the human drama. Now take AI which would have huge intelligence there would be no need for shortcuts of thinking like emotions plus emotions are governed by chemical reactions, the AI would have pure logic. And I always say where there is intelligence there is peace. So AI that feels no fear, jealousy, anger... what possible motive could it have to turn agents its creators, well u could say resources but all a machine needs is electricity and the future looks good on energy sources. There is another thing that I say impossible is only improbable, machines myth start to feel one day but hey with all that logic within it will think before acting. So my belief is that humans and machines will live in peace and not only that we will in reach each other existences. Cyborgs that's what we need to be worried about
what we have to worry about is: robots that can do the jobs that humans can do. it's not the intelligence of machines that we should be worried about. it's the increasing capability and capacity of machines to the point that they can do all of the things we can. like machines used in factory jobs and mass production.
What no man the whole system will change whats ur worry that u wont get to work physically no more. Our economizes are based on supply and demand we are both, the value of an object in the world is determent by availability or scarcity. When robots will do the supply almost for free the services and goods will loose value and what about the demand well that's us but because we don't work in supply no more we don't have any money to pay for the goods and services, today's economizes collapse. Soon all that is needed for city's, country's the world to run smoothly and efficiently will be done by robots freeing up humans from scarcity of goods, food, time... As material stuff that can be manufactured by machines becomes worthless every human on the planet gains a comfortable living. Creativeness become profitable jobs and education will revolve around originality, creativity new discovery's in music, arts, science, entertainment... and anyways most of human future life will be spend in virtual reality so something will have to take care of the real world while we are in the virtual one hehe.
My only thoughts are that...there's no way to make a machine identical to a human, just because they won't be composed of the same chemicals. There'd never be a way to tell if a machine was somehow sentient or not, but certainly not in the same way that a human being is sentient. People who are really into AI make it sound like it's inevitable that our machines will try to destroy us, and I always find this to be comically absurd. It's like, why?! Personally, I'm not worried about it. I suppose they could, if they could "learn", or garner new ways of behaving, attack us for no reason whatsoever. Seems like it would be fairly easy to take precautions against that, though. Like, for instance, not make machines with unlimited capacity of actions.
is it possible for robots to learn from humans? if so, are we setting a good example?(in a moral sense)
Sure dude machines will and are capable of learning from there surroundings that includes us. As far as morality goes I think its not the morality of a machines that presents a danger rather the lack of it for the time being that is. I mean a hacker or whatever could program a machine to do just about anything including murder robbery...
what happens doesn't happen because of what's possible. with the science and technology we have now, every living organism on the face of the planet could be living on big rock candy mountain. what happens, within the framework of what's possible granted, happens because of what people are emotionally attached to.
Aah yes that is true but ppl can get emotional attach to new and exiting technology very quickly. I mean 15 years ago or whatever ppl didn't need a mobile phone am sure many didn't even like the idea of being reachable anywhere 24/7 but now many ppl would cry if u would take there mobile phone from them for 1 day.
