This happened just the other day, top senior science position gets sacked out of his spot because he wanted to reclassify cannabis, LSD and ecstacy as drugs that are safer then alcohol and tobacco.

Where's democracy in this if you give someone responsible for your top scientific research the boot? I mean he's the one doing the governments homework, you can't just veto him out of office becuase you have very poor written research from the 60s.

This all sounds fishy to me. Psychedelics (entheogens As I like to call them), cannabis and some entactogens like MDMA are being censored on purpose to keep us from learning our mind and taking back the human potential. If your a user of LSD your seen by the state as a criminal, someone that needs to be locked up because he's a threat to society and himself. The bullshit of the matter is that alot of people have bought on to these lies. I hope with time we can have a reform on drug policy and the world as a whole.

Who else agrees about the government limiting our thinking caps?

i agree for sure man. terence mckenna had a speech on that, he was talking about how ingesting psychedelics teaches us love, teaches us the moment, pulls us away from blind consumer/materialism and into something that you just can't sell. why would they want to make available such things, that have the capacity to teach us to trust in our own minds. i also think it's awfully convenient that every drug they market for mental/mood disorders either has to be taken every day to build up in your body, or you have to take it every day to suppress symptoms that "will never get better, they just need to be medicated".

the part about hurting ourselves with "drugs" (thats what they call them) should be a matter of self choice. Fattening foods aren't good ,coffee. I can take all the acetametiphen i want, and that ain't good for you.
As for "drugs" being illegal , thats their choice. If nothing else we need the tax dollars to get out of the hole"they" put us in. We just all pesants.

Taking drugs is a matter of personal choice and freedom, and drug use is protected by the Constitution in the U.S.

If you look into the history and fine print of the modern drug laws that were enacted in 1972 (?) drugs are not outlawed directly but are controlled by "scheduling" based on their efficacy in medicine.
That the main reason the DEA and their ilk are opposed to medical marijuana use and research, and always come up with some half baked study to try and debunk it's use as medicine. If it really has medicinal uses then they need to change how it is scheduled.

Simply put, the current drug laws in the U.S. are a contrived bunch of paper thin gimmicks to get around the unconstitutionality of government telling the citizen what they can do with their own body.

Federal drug laws are also unconstitutional because such concerns are supposed to be handled by the state. That is why we have states that have legalized medical marijuana and the supreme court upholds the states rights and has come down on the DEA for taking action against legitimate medicinal users and dispensaries.

What does it mean to me? It means wasting my money for a cheap thrill. Thats why ive only paid for a alcohol a few times in my life. I've only smoked weed 3 times and ive never paid for it. As for getting high, i have yet to get any serious effect from weed. I'll even come out and be honest with you and admit i did a steroid cycle. That however was not about a cheap thrill but about making me more than i am. I didn't just say fuck it and do it on a whim either. I researched that for months and months.

You know what my honest opinion is? I think when you ppl do this shit its the only time you actually set down and use that brain of yours and thats where you get this whole "mind expansion" nonsense. Personally my mind is always expanding. I never needed any drugs to deliver me to my Philosophical view of Deism or bring about any other great revelations that it seems the majority of society doesnt seem to grasp.

If you want to get high, fine......it is what it is. As long as you are contributing to society then w/e.

just because you've never even bothered to take a psychedelic drug, don't come on here assuming you know the exact reasons that everyone decides to trip, or know the exact things we get (or not) from these experiences.

maybe if you tripped you'd lose some of that presumption :D

nothing says you have to trip. but why take away the right?

hey i agree with him. its not call mind expansion its call brain damage. most drugs that are IN now are very bad for you all the way. and when it gets to acid, it can temporarily make you psychotic... just remember all the charlie mansons women (and men)

I thought i was clear that i think you should be able to do this stuff. I just think its kind of pathetic that you try to pretend this about something more than getting high. If you have really convinced yourself of what you are saying then wow just wow.

I may be weird but at least I'm intelligent enough to research a topic and know and understand it before I start commenting on it and condemning others.

When I do comment on a topic I possess enough of an education to state my ideas in a logical, coherent fashion and utilize language, grammar and spelling correctly so that others can clearly understand what I am trying to convey.

You really should try it sometime, then maybe you wouldn't be so laughable.

Quite simply if you have never experienced a psychedelic than you have absolutely no basis with which to form an opinion such as the one you hold.

Or in terms you may more easily understand, unless you've done it, you don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
