Just because it's not melodic doesn't mean it's not musical. But yes, Noise/Drone music can be very powerful, and Ambient is always great for just chilling to.

Apparently the last song on Sunn O)))'s newest LP is prettydrone. If that's true, what else is "prettydrone"? Because Alice is awesome. Sunn's low frequency chords seamlessly fade into high frequency strings, so its as if every note lasts longer than it should. It's a very interesting effect. Also worth checking out is Birchville Cat Motel.
Sun O))) is actually pretty good. I don't listen to them much but I have... wow apparently 16 full albums of theirs on my laptop (I didn't even know that til now). I gotta get to hearing them
I recently discovered the music of Fursaxa and fell in love. Psychedelic freak folk mixed with dark drone and trance-like sounds. Really amazing.
That's so weird you mention these guys. I apparently have an album called "Alone In The Dark Wood" on my desktop and don't know how I got it. Unless it was from the cookshop blog. Ever go there? And as an edit, I'm currently listening to it for the first time and I love it! You should check out M. Jarvis/A. Jarvis if you haven't already. So earthy.
Just checked NewNoiseNet and they have a ton of their releases but not that one.. what's the next best?
I don't know, download some and tell me how they are. in the mean time I'll up SCV for you. Here you are, hopefully you're one of the first ten people to see this. Code: http://rapidshare.com/files/269479433/01_Small_Christian_Victories.mp3.html
I downloaded this the day you posted it and forgot to listen to it But now I have. This is fucking great, man. I'm going to download some more of their shit right now.
I've really got an ear for this lately..Corrupted, Robedoor, Earth, Double Leopards, Ghast, Fistula, Mouthus. all good stuff. i'll have to checkout that Birchville Cat Motel, i've seen the name thrown around.
I haven't heard of many of these artists, would anyone care to post their favourite bits please(youtube)
