Goodonya, mate, as the Aussies say. Yeah, you're with me, and thanks, brother. Off to dreamland for me. Catch you later, when reality is more real. LOL
Hah. Zen Flesh, Zen Bones is sitting on top of my copy of Journey To Ixtlan actually. Not read it yet though -Matt
Nothing more spiritual or psychic than what the spirits decide to give us, whatever substances we're imbibing.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distilled_beverage "A distilled beverage, liquor, or spirit is a drinkable liquid containing ethanol that is produced by means of distilling fermented grain, fruit, or vegetables." DAMN!
Yeah neo, it's about as natural as you can get - even animals partake of it, in the form of fermented berries and what have you. So what do we as "sentient" beings do with it? Whatever the hell we want. Innit? What I find is that the ethanol frees my subconscious expression. After all, our subconscious is part of our total being, isnt' it? But so largely suppressed by our pre-frontal cortex. So the ethanol shows me what my pre-frontal cortex is suppressing. And then I get to ask myself: What is this that is a part of myself that I'm suppressing, and what am I going to do with this revelation? Somewhat spiritual, somewhat psychic, I think. It all depends on what one does with the experience, doesn't it?
I find that the ethanol frees my super conscious expression, but then again, I AM a Pisces. :cheers2:
You know, I think it does a bit of both - for me, at least. I do sometimes find when I'm sober that I've written something while drunk that is pretty striking spiritual stuff. Other times, though, it seems like ego-driven subconscious prattlings.
Yeah, alcohol definitely has the capacity to take you to both places. I'd say premeditated intention is what decides which way the coin lands. It's just sad that most people don't see what alcohol is truly capable of.
REGRESS??? WE are the fleas that nip at earths back. i dont understand how the self centered actions of humans...destruction of all that lived before us...seemingly attempted seperation from the web is progression. i dont personally see how the death of half the worlds populaton would be of any benefit to the planet...i could only hope for the day that humans as a whole are wiped from existence, yes that means myself included. The world would be a more beautiful place.
It makes no sense. In your complete "devotion" to nature, you would destroy a part of nature? Humanity is just as natural as a tree, or as the wind blowing. We are here, we are a part of "this", and it is completely natural for us to behave as we do. Why do you describe the actions of humans as "self centered" when the same is true for every creature out there? We aren't separated from the web. Have you ever considered that humanity's role in the great web might just be to act as a pathogen? The fact of the matter is that this "web" that you speak of REQUIRES destruction, it REQUIRES pathology. In essence, to destroy is to create and to create is to destroy, they are inseparable, so what good is it to demonize one and glorify the other all in the name of condemning a race of pure innocents? Reality is not as nice as a Disney movie, and removing humanity from the picture would not stop death and it would not stop destruction. Open your eyes, and love your brothers and sisters. Why wish for their death when they are just fulfilling their role in this grand cosmic drama that we call life?
