coming out of a $400 piece of equipment, then I have news for you. I hate you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DISvTLDdhXk
I agree... but the composition! It gives me goosebumps! Oh and analog synth warmth is totally unreplicable. I guess that's what sample packs are for.
cool song, very tempted to invest in one of these marvelous machines but really don't have the finances and can tell it'd end up as a glorified coaster...
There is a lot more you can do with something like fruity loops or cubase but pads have a lot more spontaneity and fluidity about them. Each has its niche in music though
Digital is useful and great. But it's funny, nothing sounds like an old analog synth.. The warmth, the fatness... oh yeah.. time to play around with my sh-101 and mono/poly a bit.
All about the Roland 303 for me , got to mess around with one last year but I think thats as close as Ill ever come to one again Might be able to get an FB-383 in a few weeks though Just need to find a good cheap 909 clone and Ill be sorted. Software is all well and good but nothing beats an analog.
95% of my most favorite music was made with hardware. No accident, imo. Computers have their place/uses but to say it's better than gear as an opinion is foolish. Some things cannot be replicated, that's why 303's and 808's and other things are still sought after and used today.
