i bought some kava extract 250mg capsules active ingredients kava kava extract 250 mg (at least 30% kavalactones) eleuthero (root) 100mg other ingredients gelatin, magnesium stearate, and silica so i take 8 of them and empty them out into a glass of water and drink it. it tasted pretty nasty and i guess i got some mild effects, i read on erowid that the tea the islanders made was about 500mg kavalactones and i drank atleast 600 but im a big guy. so just now i took a bowl of pot and emptied out the powder on top of it i was woried about the other ingredients but i figured they were all part of the capsule. well i smoked the bowl and it tasted horrible still only got mild effects pretty much only a body buzz im guessing it was from the kava because the bowl was just some shake off already shitty pot. so i smoked some alittle more weed and went on a walk and smoked a clove and now i feal pretty good but no real effects from the kava i guess so im planning on swallowing 14 (atleast 1050mg kavalactones) tomorrow morning ill see how that goes. but my question and real reason for posting this is would i be able to use this method http://www.erowid.org/experiences/exp.php?ID=2253 to extract kavalactones from the powder instead of roots??? would it work because it also has eleuthero root in it
I ate 6 of those things and didn't feel ANYTHING at all. =\ Also, the fact that I can go down to the local pharmacy and purchase kava kava en masse without raising eyebrows suggests that it isn't very psychoactive. =P Just don't get your hopes up.
how do your lungs feel? generally kava will fuck up your lungs if you smoke it. if you got a peppery irritating feeling from the kava than chances are you will be feeling a little short of breath tomarrow. if you want a nice head rush (i found this doesnt work for everyone) then try emptying out one of those pills and insuflating it.
i ate 14 today and i guess i was really relaxted b/c i did a job interview and was fine and i probablly wouldve freaked out about normally but thats it really it im gonna try and do a extract on the rest of the capsules
good kava root, or a quality extract, can be very interesting... some folks like it better than pot or alcohol... and a friend who had some fresh outa the ground swears that it was quite hallucinogenic... but ymmv with this one...
Well, that's kava root or kava extract, not just the common form that you can buy at the local drug store. =P
