    lol orison

yea that's a joke. "drugs make the government like you!"

    what?

"Drugs change your mind in way x that is good for the government! Believe what I say becuase I think it is right, and if you don't you further some group's or organization's agenda!"

Are you fucking ill? Coming up with a theory is one thing. Trying to promote the theory when you have no understanding about what it entails and implies is... Not smart... (Directed at the so-called journalism, not op)

people seem to think of the government in this strange way, in the same way they think about corporations, or the economy. these are vast groups of people. while there may, in fact, be some group of powerful people somewhere who control the vast majority of the planet, and who are meeting and concocting schemes... the idea that there are these complex, lucid and immensely effective strategies (shown by conspiracy theorists), carried out to the letter by thousands of people knowingly involved, is rather silly. hell, i can hardly get a pizza delivered on time by one of these 'corporations'.

IMO, in reality most conspiracy theories are an interesting array of evidence presented with the idea that "someone" is actually in charge and thought the whole thing up. this DOES happen - there's no doubt, look at the re-establishment of Banana Republics - but most of the time, it's just an organic process. people working independently of each other but in similar positions, in pursuit of their own interests, tend to create situations that look conspiratorial. ever see the south park episode about the 9/11 conspiracy theories? i think the message of that episode is true - that people seek simple order in complicated events, that people seek culprits even though responsibility stretches far and wide. the idea that the "government" controls anything, really, is hard to believe... the people of the government attempt to control, and sometimes do, but it depends on what you do, too.

Not to be a dick but most of the people who believe everything that's told to them are the ones who are being fooled. In fact everyone's being fooled constantly through the news, none of us know how or what we're being fooled or distracted from.

I know, makes, literally no sense. But maybe some 16 year old stoner out their get's what I'm sayin.
