Roughly what I think of it. It's not old Slayer, but it's better than anything since Seasons in the Abyss.
I've not bought the album yet, but from what I've listened to it sounds like an okay-ish album that has kinda lifeless production. I don't have the cash to buy it at the moment, so I'm thinking it's not exactly essential.
The 3 songs I've heard have all disappointed me terribly.... Hopefully there's a good tune or two on the album though...

Gotta admit, I did kind of like the slower part of that song. I'd reckon if Slayer played a bit slower in general, maybe going for a combination of traditional doom metal and thrash, they might end up making more memorable riffs.... maybe? And get out of that "hurf durf who needs memorable riffs when you've got speed" mindset. What I'm getting at is that they should stop being Slayer. I can dream. edit: or just take South of Heaven a little bit further, whatevs
I quite like the album. I think its an improvement on the last two. Unit 731 probably my favourite track on the album, pretty trippy. The album cover itself is a tad bland. Caught one of their Reign In Blood concerts at Sydneys Luna Park just this last Oct 15th, one of the best friggin evaaa!
I'll check it out. And I'll have to decide whether I'm going to download it or buy it if it's good enough.
This is officially my least favourite Slayer album. It's tied with God Hates Us All.... There isn't even one song I like enough to put on my itunes playlist...
