Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold is a sort of bizarre book. But excellent.
Written from the perspective of a dead 14 year old girl, (brutally murdured) as she looks back at her life and as well as looking on as her family, loved ones go on about their life;.
    Has anyone else read this?

I thought it was beautiful and heartfelt, obviously written by a person who has been touched by tradgedy. Its humanity and emotion actually helped me through the untimely death of someone very close to me. I reread it probably once a year and it has me in tears every time.. but it always helps me make sense of my feelings towards death and feel a little better about it.

I really liked this book too, and her other one called Lucky... however, I read her newest one recently called The Almost Moon, and I am not so sure how I felt about it...anyone else read it?

Seraphina, I too, felt the author had to have been touched by tragedy and found myself wondering if she didn't somehow channel much of the book. Even tho I was moved (to tears) at points, it left me at peace somehow. (Unlike this awful but well written book called The Pact by Jodi something.)

I'm glad you mentioned the other books, cre8tor, because I do intend to read them too.

I really liked the Lovely Bones. They recently made a movie, though I heard it really sucked and was pulled from theaters very quickly. I suppose it would be a tough book to make into a movie.
