Storing some herb...

I need to store a half for two weeks. What's the best way to go about this? Without getting a moldy mess that is...

 

mason jar should set you right

 

If your pot is damp, dry it for a bit. The outer layer should be dry and crispy. Jars work very well, just make sure to open it and air it for a few min every day or two, it will help prevent mold, and make for delicious buds.

I thought that freezing bud damages it? Theres still liquid inside the cells of the plant cuttings, if you freeze them, it causes the liquid to expand tearing the cells membrane and the THC heads?

 

I won't freeze it. I would think the trichromes would fall off. The problem is, I can't really open in. I need to give it to my mom to keep from me so I don't smoke it. Would it mold if I just put in a bag or two and then just push out the air and hand it over? The orange peel thing sounds decent.

If its damp then smoke it, if not get some jars and put it in there...open it everyday for 2 minutes or so - do this until you smoke it. When you come back, it will taste O-mazing.

Is this freshly harvested bud that hasn't been dried or cured? If yes, then mold can be a concern and you will want to read this.

If no, you shouldn't have anything to worry about, just any bag or tubberware container will do.

oh ya....cells are frozen every day and live through it because they can expand and contract and trichromes need friction to detach from fresh weed

hahahah had me 5 lbs of good green bud just put it in plastic trash bag in my storage unit----didnt need it for awhile was still selling some other shit---went to get it--it was all fucked up with mold---was laughing stock for a while hahaha

 

I would say a bag with all the air pressed out, and put it into a mason jar in a dark place.
If the bud is dry when you get it out, you can put an orange peel in there.. I've heard of people getting mold on their bud since the peel was in there too long.

 

we used to get half kilos from mexico wrapped super tight in plastic--they looked like footballs---but inside each one was a lime---and that kept well months and months we had that shit saved for when shit got dry---man---money money money--being the only ones holding during a draught makes you rich--sorry for the off topic

I can't smoke it for two weeks because I could only get the money then and I'm going on vacation so I need to have it for then...

Anyway I'm probably just going to put it in bags, press out the air and hand it to my mom. If it ends up dry I'll try the orange peel thing. If it doesn't work thats fine. As long as when I open it it isn't moldy.

I had it in a tupperware thing in bags along with a pouch that hold water to keep cigars fresh. It went from a strange bittersweet scent to a grass like scent and now it smells like a fruity sour scent. I don't know what it means though.

 

I can smoke... Just not the majority of it. I took the flake and small nugs, but the big beauties are for the trip.
