So a few weeks ago I remember I used to play when I was young before my brothers' were born (attention hogs). Anyway, that game was hot lava I introduced the game to my brothers', and after a few days the game wore off.... But I am still stuck playing! I have devised many clever techniques to get from my computer to the bathroom/fridge without touching the ground. Did any of you play this game when you were kid? I was thinking of starting a thread where you have to get from point a to point b and how you would do it... maybe later
This was one of my favorite games as a child as well, my mom would yell at me all day to not be jumping on the couches or the coffee table but she simply didn't understand that if I didn't I would melt
hahah i used to do this all the time...id get like pillows and shit and jump across them and like jump from couch to couch and shit...that game was better than nintendo
Hahaha. Since I started playing again I always make sure there are spare pillows near by so I can make it to the fridge.
hahaa, you have fuckin skill son, i wish i had techniques to get from my computer to the fridge without touching the ground
i used to use dr seuss books to travel around my house, id pick up the one behind me and put it infront of me. hot lava was the shit
Rules: Hot Lava is a children's game, in which the players imagine that the floor or ground is made of lava or variably as any other unsavory substance, such as acid and thus avoid touching the ground lest they get burned or otherwise injured. The players stay off of the floor by standing on furniture or the room's architecture. The players generally do not remain still, moving from one piece of furniture to the next. There may even be a goal, to which the players must race. The game may also be played outdoors in playgrounds or similar areas. You can set up obstacles to make the game more challenging. This is a variation of an obstacle course. The game was referenced in The Simpsons episode Catch 'Em if You Can in which Homer Simpson exclaims that "...the floor is made of lava! Another reference to "Hot Lava" was in Family Guy when the nudist family's son comes over to the Griffin's house and when he leaves peter place and says, "don't touch the hot lava, the ground is lava." Typically, any individual can start the game just by shouting "the floor is lava". Any player remaining on the floor in the next few seconds is "out" and can not rejoin the game for some waiting period. This game has become increasingly popular among older children and teens in the past few years. The game has also been popularized among college kids, with roots tracing back to Beehive. It is usually played while dancing to loud music and drinking hard alcohol. When players "lose" they must take a shot of vodka. The game normally ends at the conclusion of the song Sandstorm. In Denmark this game is often refereed to as "toxic ground". The game is often played in such a way that one child is going to catch the others. When he/she touches an other player, the touched player becomes the one who much catch the others. If someone touches the ground, the player who is it, may shout "toxic ground" and the player touching the ground becomes the one who must catch the others.
So I just got to thinking.... And... how fun would a trip be where you played the hot lava game the whole time
Yeah, me and my cousins played this in their rich ass play room back in the day. It was a long, somewhat narrow rectangle of a room and we'd just go around and around over all kinds of messes in the room, and when I mean messes I don't mean tinker toys scattered, I mean big ass furniture type shit in shambles all over the place. Serious shit.
everyone, quick, the floor is hot diarrhea!! one time me and my friend (like 9 or 10 years old) told my little brother (4 or 5) that there was a diarrhea flood coming and if he touched it his peepee would fall off. ahhaa, it was so mean. he cried. we got yelled at by my mom
i do my best picking on my little bro was always so much fun. now he's 19 and could probably beat me up if he wanted.
