Because we're allowing ourselves to believe that anything that a doctor prescribes is good while a naturally occurring plant is evil... it wickedly threatens the HUGE pharmaceutical profit margins that they have a legislatively enacted right to.

Yeah, i always have trouble focusign in school and on movies, for movies my mind goes all over the fucking place. Whats weird is that whenever i watch movies on weed i always concentrate a ton better and i always understand the plot better, like i watched the wall (pink floyd) sober 2wice, and i still didnt understand the whole concept, but when i watched it stoned, i understood everything and all teh symbolism, it was amazing.

I just think it's making a big deal over kids being hyper.

Most importantly, our knowledge of how the brain functions is minimal. Just because we've discovered the impact some hormones have on some receptors doesn't mean we should be jumping to conclusions on how to treat ADD, depression, bipolar disorder, etc. I think the reason why many depression medications are dangerous is because we don't understand their full impact on the brain.

ADD and ADHD I believe do "exist" to some extent. There are enough people in the population displaying similar symptoms that "most" other people don't seem to have. I believe to some extent I have certain symptoms of ADD but I have never been medically tested (which from what I've heard is a joke). On the other hand, my dad (in his 40's) clearly suffers from ADD. I have recreationally taken various doses of Adderall, Strattera and Concerta. I found Concerta to be useless in lower doses and higher doses made me feel horrible. Strattera did help me pay attention to some things but like Concerta, made me feel like I was crashing on caffeine. Adderall is by far the most effective (for me) even at small doses. I spent an entire week jacked up on anywhere from 20mg to 40mg of XR Adderall every day. First let me say, this shit is horrible for your body. I was forcing myself to eat once a day, couldn't sleep for more than a couple hours, etc. I think if I were to sit down with a doctor and carefully construct my dosage, I could use Adderall with limited negative side effects.

What really bothers me is extended family members I know pumping their children full of these medications for ADD and ADHD (amongst a host of various other "conditions" that shouldn't be diagnosed when a child is 4 or 5). One of my cousins (6 or 7 years old?) complained of seeing things one day and had to be taken to the ER. Never have I heard of young children hallucinating from prescriptions but this proves that doctors out there will prescribe ANYTHING to these kids.

    TL;DR?
These stimulants are dangerous but might help some people. Kids should not be put on this shit, I think any medical testing that confirms some disorder when a child is 5 or 6 is absolute bullshit.

I think it is over diagnosed but I have met kids with real adhd...nothing like the kind you see in the classroom, but so severe they are in special education rooms. They do need their meds...but most kids who are on them dont need them.
