Hey guys, I have a question for you: I have had probably about 5 or 6 concussions, ranging from bad to minor over the past six or so years. I started smoking weed about a year ago, and have had no concussions since i started. However last may ( since then i had slowed down and now have not blazed in about 2 months) i started getting these really bad "hang overs" after i would smoke. It was this weird feeling, and I couldt not function normally and had trouble stringing sentances together for almost a day afterwards. Now mind you this would only tend to happen after a lot of smoking had been done, like 10+ bong hits, or 20 drags from a pipe, but never the less i got scared off weed in fear of my own health. however i have read that marijuna actually aids the healing of concussions so now i am a bit confused. So you think i should continue not smoking it, or try again, but in smaller amounts and different methods? If you think i should try, please say what method you suggest and why if possible, or if you have any other thoughts or expiriences feel free to share them Thanks a lot guys, Peace
when i was a lot younger like 14 i think,, i had the same problem with not being able to think straight or put sentences together so i stopped smoking for prolly 6 months and then after that i was good
if you feel like you wanna try smoking again, try it with smaller amounts. or just stay away from it if you don't like how it makes you feel. i haven't heard about it helping to heal concussions, and i'd be skeptical to believe that.
a concussion caused me to stop smoking cold turkey for 7 months from about 3 grams a day due to severe headaches or panic attacks if I smoked. Im good now though just keep trying every couple months.
^I agree. But if you must smoke, don't smoke as much. 10+ bong hits sounds like a loooot of smoking, especially since you have a concussion.
It wont do any damage to your brain because people have gotten it prescribed for post concussion syndrome. but if you don't enjoy the effects/after effects then just don't smoke.
I used to be into competetive hockey and got three from that, two from bmx and one from snowboarding. and just to clarify, i never smoked while i had concussions, i didnt start smoking until after i had my lastest one which was over a year agao, and never had any during the time period while i smoked. and i only noticed a problem when i started smoking alot, which may have been the sole problem, as i was always fine before ahnd. regardless, im going to wait awhile before trying it again, and in small doses
