Today I had nothing better to do than go get some more tats. I really think the process of having ink scratched into your skin is addictive. These latest are # 4 & 5. Both of the designs I got today were on silver medallions I wore in the '70s. Back then I had rings on every finger and bracelets and necklaces made to order by a friend who worked silver. Both medallions have disappeared over the years - I must have given them away but can't remember to whom. Anyhow, I got the Aum symbol tattoo put on the arm near the Peace Symbol since neither is my design. The other tat was a design of mine to commemorate a former partner - Jim - whom I lived and travelled with for five years. I put it on the same arm as the Butterfly designed for me and Brenda. Detail of New Tat: It is significant as this double Mars with Venus glyph (Or one male touching both male and female) was a pendant that I was wearing when I met Jim. He asked if I was political and I guess I was pretty out.
Back in the '70s I was into Eastern Philosophy and the Aum is a part of Hindu and Buddhist tradition - the universal sound of creation/preservation/destruction. I had a silver pendant that I wore with this symbol on it, which I no longer have. Don't know where it went, may have given it away in India. So I will probably keep this one for a while.
oh cool....looks great, i was thiking of getting the same symbol at the back of my neck, but i am not sure if to go through with it or not.
Love your tats...I can't help but feel happy when people actually put ink on their bodies that has great meaning to them rather than just be a pretty design.
