Weeeeeeeeeird... I saw pics of this place on a *steampunk* blog... but these are cute. Nice that they had the resources to be able to do that... average jo blow (or me) can't, sadly.

Seen it forever ago. I think I'd like to live in one, but I'd shoot the first person to call it a hobbit home to my face =)

Hobbits are good folk. They're actually good 'people' to aspire to.

But aside from The Hobbit, the series sucks.

Now that's bad taste right there. The Hobbit is for kids. It can be appreciated, but not on a higher intellectual level such as, for instance, the Silmarillion.

    I hated the Hobbit.

I really want to be able to build a building like this. It is far from something that I could get done without a home base. Does anyone have any ideas for other buildings on a property that could be built like/as a hobbit home... :S

cripey , just go make a little one . dig out a space at or near the top of a rise so water drainage is good . the stuff you diggidy did becomes the roof covering . the structure is made of sticks and rocks that be lying about . mmm yaya , settle in for the winter .

if your in the uk the guy who built that house is looking for helpers to build a community look up lammas.org you can volunteer to just do some building work and live in a tent while doing it

Those look awesome,I would love to live in one of them and would proudly call it a hobbit hole.cuz thats what it looks like.Very low maintenance, nice and warm, perfect for northern climes.Grow a few plants on the roof and that would really make it.
