I dob't anyone has some magic trick but basically the dread at the front of my head happens to also sit over my best head scratching spot, and as a result the first 3 inches or so is full of dandruff. I have unusually large dandruff (I was once told it could "put a mouses eye out") so it's pretty well embedded. Shaking and rubbing only ever really gets 1/2 of it out, and any serious effort to remove it results in dread damage (well hairs coming out at least.)

Has any one got some magic trick or sage advise to remove it, telling me not to scratch my head isn't going to cut it and I wouldn't say dandruff is a problem in general. It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if it wasn't the dread that's "on display" and thus I am instantly assumed to be a seldom washed tramp.

    Rosemary tea :)

Grab a few table spoons of rosemary, Boil it up in a pan with water, maybe half a small pan full, let it simmer for 15 mins.
After letting it cool, strain it and throw away the little green bits, and pour it into
a little squirty bottle (can get one from boots for £1.19, its small but useful) Or just
pour it over your head :)

Can wash it out, or not. I didn't wash mine out, got rid of my dandruff the next day :)

Does of Head and Shoulders every week or so depending on how often you wash your hair and what with, as long as you keep a decent length of time between uses and rise thoroughly you can use H&S. I have some diluted for when ever I get any issues involving dandruff. Use it sparingly though because obviously it will build up if you use it every wash and then take some serious rinsing to get it all out at once.

i swear i say this in every post but what works best for me is washing with hot water and baking soda to open the pores, and rinsing out with ice cold water which closes the pores, sealing in moisture and reducing druff.

I predict that contracting dandruff to druff as NP has demonstrated will collectively save us 150 man-hours per year. I approve this contraction.

Sorry to double post, but thought this belonged here. I have the "wet druff" and it's really starting to annoy the hell out of me. My scalp is constantly itchy and when I scratch it I get that gooey gunk on my nails. I've tried many different things without success. I'm going to buy some rosemary and try it again tonight. If this doesn't work, I may consider losing my dreads. I love them, but I hate the itching more than I like the dreads. :( :( :(

The rosmary did benefit me when I used it for a while at the start, but it's hardly a clinical trial. I have a huge bush of the stuff out the front so I don;t have any real excuse for not using it more often. I'm going to "borrow" some pharmaceutical bi carb from work and see can I get ACV in the UK without paying through the nose.

I have this 'wet druff' too. Really nasty stuff- I tend to wash my hair with water and nothing else. The more I shampoo the more my scalp seems to dry out and flake

Ya, it's really gross. :( I usually just wash with water or baking soda and water with tea tree added some times. Some days I can just ignore the itch, but most days it makes me scratch and then it grosses me out.

So, I soaked in rosemary and left it on over night. It seems a lot of the gunk is gone. WOOHOOO!!!!
