haha yea I know, I was just excited when I made the thread and I admit it doesn't have anywhere to go
Did you grow or buy them? I've been enjoying poppy seed tea lately and scattered the seeds in the yard, which are now sprouting like crazy! Might have some purrrdy flowers soon.
ida done this to the taz and oriental pods I have.. but they are next years grows.. hopefully better luck than last cause I didnt get many to grow out of 1000's of seeds..
Damn, growing sounds pretty awesome but the chances of disappointment and error makes me hesitate. But yea I mentioned opium to this guy (no stranger, don't worry ) and he was just like "oh, you should try making tea out of pods some time. I have them in my car. You can have them." He's one of those new age sorta hippies that is just concerned about spreading the experience around haha.
I chatted with another pod grower, that said when the seedling come up place cut milk cartons over them.. poppies are the tiniest seedlings Ive ever seen.. very delicate, i had the same death rate indoors..
It really sounds like something i would like to try. Anyone have anyt tips or tricks to starting some plants off??
I'll ask the guy I got them from asap, but I'm guessing there are some quicker and more accessible guides around. Actually on my other computer I have a link called "How to grow Opium Poppies" haha. I'll make sure to post that tomorrow.
Well, after making a few batches of some bomb ass seed tea, I've been scattering the seeds by the edges of the yard where the soil stays damp and I was surprised to see thick patches of sprouts. I'll have to thin them out, but right now they're looking promising. I'd go with just planting a whole grip of seeds and just keep them watered. They like cool weather, so now's the time of year for it! Hoping to get some pods in the near future. Until now, I've had no luck with getting them to grow. Apparently, once they get started, they grow like weeds and add color to your garden, and your mental state of being... haha.
haha yea, that sounds fun. I think I want to try with the seeds I have now. Oh and hey, since I got mine just from somebody nice handing them over, how would one actually go about getting them normally? I know that they sell california poppy seeds and stuff online... but yea of course that's pointless to buy. But yea, hopefully I can get some indoor growing started.
They sell the good seeds online as well. You just gotta look hard enough and ask around on all the forums and see if anyone has ahd any luck finding them.
